Limbaugh on the Midwest Floods

"I want to know. I look at Iowa, I look at Illinois - I want to see the
murders. I want to see the looting. I want to see all the stuff that
happened in New Orleans . I see devastation in Iowa and Illinois that
dwarfs what happened in New Orleans . I see people working together.
I see people trying to save their property...I don't see a bunch of
people running around waving guns at helicopters, I don't see a bunch of
people running shooting cops. I don't see a bunch of people raping
people on the street. I don't see a bunch of people doing everything
they can...whining and moaning - where's FEMA, where's BUSH....I see the
heartland of America . When I look at Iowa and when I look at Illinois,
I see the backbone of America ."

Yup, things are a little bit different up here in the midwest, I wonder why? Its amazing that they aren't shipping these people across the country and giving em $2000 gift cards.

Re: Limbaugh on the Midwest Floods

Of course, comparing the floods in the midwestern states to the disaster in New Orleans is like comparing a firecracker to a nuclear explosion. But you'all keep telling yourselves that "those people" deserved it. It makes you feel good, doesn't it??? It allows yourself to avoid addressing that deep, dark secret that you're afraid you hold in your heart, doesn't it. . . . .

I think the difference is that in the midwest these people already knew they were living in a flood plane, and while they're upset they aren't ready to blame anybody for their problems, wheras in new orleans the stupid fuckers also knew that a big flood was possible(especially with a giant hurricane coming), and chose to stay put. then ,when things got real tough they started looting their own neighborhood and then had the nerve to blame the govt for their own stupidity. What I cant figure out is what makes the two groups act so differently?:+clueless

Re: Limbaugh on the Midwest Floods

Who, pray tell, blamed the government? Maybe it was the people who paid the same taxes that you do, who merely desired that their tax dollars be used to assist them in their time of need? No, that would be too easy. Maybe it would be the taxpayers who funded FEMA that merely wished that there federaly-funded government agency did its job? NOTICE TO KNOBS: Americans agree to pay taxes so that any one disaster will not destroy any particular area of the United States. Don't kid yourself that you don't suck off of the public teat. . . .Bring it on with your "Oh, my situation's different". . . Don't make me puke. . . .

Cmon, who blamed the govt? Only most of the democrats who did it just to make Bush and his administration look bad. I agree that FEMA acted terribly, especially in the early days when all those poor people were trapped, you seem to have forgotten that dumb ass mayor they have who arranged that bus rescue for his buddies while all those bastards sat at the convention center.
The fact is that everyone knew new orleans was vulnerable to a major hurricane, and those idiots "chose" to stay put, they were practically begged to leave when the storm was approaching. In my opinion the ultimate blame has to lie with the education system because apparently we have cities full of idiots.

Re: Limbaugh on the Midwest Floods

the people in the upper midwest (minnesota, iowa, wisconsin, the dakotas, the u.p.) have a long history of working together and helping each other in times of need. they'll help farm if there is an illness, they'll pitch in after a natural disaster, they're able to form co-ops, etc. it'd be nice if we could succeed from the u.s, and live a nice socialist lifestyle (like our northern european ancestors).
