Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

In 2015, the NL East was historically awful. Most likely the worst division in baseball history since realignment. That created some huge injustices in the 2015 NL playoffs. However, this might just be the beginning.

That division has actually gotten substantially weaker so far through the offseason. Braves are much worse and Nats and Mets are both losing big contributors. Phillies and Marlins both still bad.

The best 6 teams in the NL are very likely to be: Cubs, Cardinals, Pirates, Diamondbacks, Giants, Dodgers

How long do you allow this to continue? Basically have a triple A caliber division up here fucking up the entire season. You gotta change the playoff format or this kind of shit will happen far too much and make the game a sham. MLB is not like NFL and can not operate well with these joke divisions. Joke divisions stay joke divisions for very long time. Too much parity in the NFL so joke divisions rotate every year based on luck and injuries.

Wasn't long ago the NL Central was amongst the worst divisions in baseball.

When? Would love to know this since the NL Central has constantly represented itself very well in the wild card positions. In fact, let me make that point clear here.

Wild Card appearances by division since the wild card was invented.

NL East: 6 wild card appearances
NL Central: 12 wild card appearances
NL West: 7 wild card appearances

The NL Central has been pretty rock solid. Check playoff records too. Not to mention, the best group of franchises is clearly the NL Central going forward.

If memory serves, the Cubs and Astros were losing 100 games a year not too long ago.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

The Cardinals won the NL Central with 83 wins in 2006 :LMAO. Cubs won the division with 85 wins in 2007.

Mets won 90 games and Nats won 83 games.

It's unbelievable how stupid and whiny Scrubs is.

6 team division. Lowers your chances. The NL Central has consistently been the toughest division to be in.

It all evens out in the long run. Long-time NBA fans remember in the 80's-90's, the east had the majority of the power teams. The Lakers had a cakewalk to the finals many times.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

bringing up the NBA is silly.

NBA playoffs are nothing like MLB playoffs.

Last year, the 2nd and 3rd best teams in all of baseball had to play in a 1 game playoff for the right to play the best team in the league. Meanwhile, the 10th best team in the playoffs, the Mets, got an auto spot into the NLDS.

It's a broken system, very clearly. Only going to get worse as the NL East is more pathetic next year than worst in history this year.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

Cubs have a one good team in 100 years, and only get in the playoffs because they already changed the playoffs rules to let one more team in... now this guy is crying for even more changes to give the cubs a chance.

Cub fans need the rules changed just for a chance to win it all - they can't do it the same way teams have been doing it for years. :LMAO

I say we go back to the old wild card system so shit teams like last years Cubs don't get in.

Ya, baseball has an extensive history with 97 win teams missing the playoffs. :LMAO

Timely, you're having a mental meltdown aren't you? Cubs were 1000 times better than the Sox last year and just keep getting better and better while your shit team doesn't have the balls to rebuild and doesn't have the talent to win. :doh1

The Mets are a much better team right now than they were when the playoffs ended. Solidifying the middle of the infield makes them the best team in the NL right now.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

Divisions are unnecessary. The best 5 teams in each league should make the playoffs. The best 3 teams in each league should be given the automatic spot in the NLDS.

Going 90-72 in the worst division in MLB history is not better than going 97-65 in the best and doesn't deserve special treatment because they 'won' a 'division.'

You guys think the Cubs fans were asking for divisions to be abolished in 2007? They wouldn't have made the playoffs if it was 5 best records.

Funny how quickly a loser forgets losing.

the Mets proved they were inferior in the WS. I've seen most little league teams play better defense and have better bullpens. Variance is a bitch. Can't play over your head for 2 weeks without crashing.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

Isn't it cute how the little autistic kid is in here talking about how awful the NL Central is when I've already posted proof that they've had more wild card appearances than any division in all of baseball since the wild card was invented in the 90s?

So yeah, it's been the best division in baseball for the last 22 years. I'd say that's something you stupid sausage fingered autistic.

When did I say the NL Central has never had one bad year? That doesn't change anything.

Re: Manfred's Glaring Problem: Will he continue to ignore it?

Good point, Timely.

12 wild cards = 6 teams (5 teams the last several years after the Astros left)
13 wild cards = West and East combined = 10 teams always

Yeah... the NL Central doesn't have a better rate there at all. I can see why you flunked out of Illinois State.

based on my chart, i would like the baseball to change the rules so it's just the 10 best AL teams in the playoffs because the AL is clearly superior to the NL and it's unfair to the AL teams. :btj:
