Needed him to have 14 completions. Should have got it but Chargers let me down.

And, what's the point?

The point is that while guys like u and Tripp see him as a franchise quarterback leading his team to the superbowl guys like me and Mo see nothing more then Trent Dilfer and his amazing effort leading the Ravens to their Superbowl victory.:+textinb3You wrote in another post on how for a rookie he is getting it done. he is getting it done like Big Bens first superbowl win. A pathetic performance but a Ring no less. This isn't tennis or golf when u are doing it solo.

Big Ben may have had a sub-par statistical super bowl, but everyone conveniently forgets that his above avg performance in the regular season got them into the playoffs. and his stellar performance helped the steelers win 3 road games in a row as a #6 seed.

14-19 3 td's 0 ints 148.7 passer rating vs cin

14-21 197 yards 2 td's 1 int 95.3 passer rating vs indy (+game and TD saving tackle after the Bettis goal line fumble)

21-19 275 yards 2 td's 0 ints 124.9 passer rating vs den

did Ben earn that ring? you better believe he did

Mofo is also the one giving 0 credit to Eli Manning for winning his SB. Sanchez is the Franchez, get used to him.

0 credit? nope, never said that. You are often times irrational in these discussions.

Eli managed the games well, he didnt win the games. the giants defense won the title, eli is a decent qb. nothing more, nothing less. thats a fine commodity to have, most teams dont have a decent qb.

the point here is fairly obvious. the qb position is overrated. anyone in the league could do what sanchez did this year. literally, any qb. they had the worst passing offense in the nfl. you don't need some franchize qb to win.

sanchez could be that down the line, but right now he isnt very good. he doesnt need to be. teams win titles.

Anyone COULD do it, but Sanchez is one of only 4 QB's who aren't playing golf. That means something.

Sanchez is special, just like i've been saying all along.

not knocking Big Ben. top five quarterback in the league in my opinion. Just saying that it wasn't because of him that they won the superbowl. If i recall they to had a dominating defense also. also u are right Ben played a well in those playoffs. That stiff Dilferd is the real comparison.

Solid, acurate, well said. :cheers:cheers

As far as Sanchez goes, his play is utilitarian and mistake-free and sometimes that's all that is necessary; however, against the Colts, the Jets will need more. 12io4j2w90

What it means is Sanchez has a dominating defense that is carrying him. The other three are carrying their teams.

Nope, it doesnt mean that at all.

The Jets are in because the colts didnt try to beat them and because of their defense and oline. Sanchez isn't 'special'. Its hilarious that anyone thinks otherwise.

maybe down the road, but not right now.

there are only 4 kickers not playing golf right now, they're the most special kickers in football.

How about Bens SB rating.

worst of any qb to ever win it. the team won, not ben. too much attention and credit given to one player.

sanchez didnt play mistake free.

the jets win even though they have to start sanchez, not because they have sanchez.

The Jets didn't even earn a spot in the playoffs. A scheduling break got them in.

Sanchez was the 28th rated qb in the regular season. I guess that means he was more special than 4 other starting qb's this year.

Re: Mark Sanchez completed 12-of-23 passes for 100 yards

Nope, it doesnt mean that at all.

The Jets are in because the colts didnt try to beat them and because of their defense and oline. Sanchez isn't 'special'. Its hilarious that anyone thinks otherwise.

maybe down the road, but not right now.

there are only 4 kickers not playing golf right now, they're the most special kickers in football.

:cheers

Sanchize. I bet NY Jets fans beg to differ. Btw, who was at the game yesterday, me or you? I saw it live. Sanchize was wonderful and kept his cool in the face of a very hostile crowd.

Here's his numbers from yesterday. A 60.1 qb rating is wonderful? I guess Jets fans have low expectations

Hopefully this is a sarcastic post?

sanchez completed 12 passes for 100 yards and 1 pass to the other team. anyone can seem cool when they dont have to do anything but go 3 and out and punt the ball.

You're off on this one. Thats ok. the fact that sanchez was the 28th rated passer in the nfl, behind perhaps the best oline in the nfl, with the best running game in the nfl, speaks to how bad he was this year. thats ok, hes a rookie. Fact is, he is their weakest link.

charlie batch would have the jets in the same position. they'd actually, likely, be better with a healthy charlie batch.

Thats life. I have no bias here. The jets are in the playoffs due to the colts giving them a game that the jets didnt have a chance to win and sanchez is their weakest player.

Re: Mark Sanchez completed 12-of-23 passes for 100 yards

One of the things we all have to live with is that even in the NFL playoffs, not always are the best teams in at the end, but one or more of the 'hottest' teams. Right now, the talk of the NFL should be the Jets D, not their offense, but that their D is so spectacular.

If we were to start these playoffs over again, would the Jets be in this same spot? Maybe not. If we went back and replayed week 17, would the Jets even be in the playoffs? Maybe, maybe not.

They are DEFINATELY not one of the best 4 teams in the NFL, nor were they at any point of the season. But kudos to them...they got hot at the right time and are doing what they have to do to stay alive.

With that said, i cannot imagine the Jets in a superbowl. Arizona last year (getting hot when they did) was one thing, but for the sake of football, the Colts HAVE to win this game.

Its crazy when a .500 team does what they have so far, granted the Bengals were so overrated and the Chargers are playoff choke artists.

It ain't about numbers, its about winning. Sanchize is a winner.

Defense and Nate missing 2 40yd fgs won the game. They run the ball, control the clock, play solid defense, and don't let Sanchez lose the game for them. 4.3rypa...4.3 pypa

Sanchize WON the game for them. He scored more points than the other guy.

one other thing i'll comment as a major reason they are where they are is because of the emergence of Shonn Greene. This kid could be a beast. RB situation in NYJ is really nice right now

He led them to an amazing 16 yd td drive after Rivers threw the ball right to the wrong jersey...7 of those yards coming from a personal foul. They aren't a flashy team by any means and their style of play wins games for them but if you pull Sanchez out and put in most other qbs they win as well.

If BillyB and the Pats convert that 4th and 2 against Indy then Indy may leave their foot on the gas to get the #1 seed. They are making the best of the chance.

Back to back road playoff wins for Sanchize as a rookie. Impressive.

Sanchize. What's a guy gotta do to get a little love? How many Rookie Qbs have won 2 road playoff games in their very first season? I still havent seen a list.

Bueller? Anyone?

282 yards and 2 touchdowns...not exactly scorching for 2 games. Greene almost has as many rushing yards as Sanchize does passing yards and the same amount of TD. :fuck:

He played a nice game against the Bengals the 15 plays out of 56 they put the ball in his hand.

Did you ever think that Jets running game is effective because Defenses are fearful of Sanchez?

Scoreboard.

Re: Mark Sanchez completed 12-of-23 passes for 100 yards

Yes I'm sure defenses were shaking in their boots everytime a guy that threw 12td, 20 int, and had the 4th lowest completion % went under center.

Ball control and defense...without the running game Sanchez is Cutler with less tds.
