I think there were cops there when the shooting started, I seem to recall it was a coincidence, but they did nothing, it took 5-10 min to figure out what was happening and exactly where it was coming from. Following that the "police" stationed themselve outside his room while they waited.
You're missing the fact that other than the security guard, no one on the MGM prop were harmed, are they responsible for people elsewhere? So anywhere in america, if a kook opens a window and perhaps shoots at a plane, and it crashes, it's the owner of the properties fault?
