get use to paying like this time... how many man hour cops do you need to make up $755 million payout........... you think cheap.... pay pay pay
I was to vegas 3 weeks ago, i saw no discernable difference in security, certainly no cops.

Supposedly there are about 2500 people who filed claims, and the pot is about $800 million, with 58 dead that could mean approx $2 million for each death, perhaps 200K for each injury. is that fair? Considering it wasn't really the casino's fault?

the payout is correct maybe a under paid what you would of made with the life time earnings of each person... 200k for injury is a case by case ...sounds low..

they should have security... it was on their property....the state is one of the top states with danger ....cause it is the wild west with guns legal etc.... It also has a ton of money in the public's eye with the way casino's handle cash so freely. ... I would have extra security on hand if i owned it...

I'm just trying to divide up that sum, you cant go too high for the injured and still have a lot more for the dead.

not talking about your math skills.... i am talking about what they got each person... so raise the 755million... i would not want 2 million if my husband or wife got killed..... if he/she made a lot of money per year...the people got low balled... 911 people got 2 million each on death... that was about 20 yrs ago..

So they are out almost nothing beyond what insurance covers. Pretty much what everyone expects. Same thing happens in almost all liability cases. If you cause an accident and have $100k of liability insurance the payout is almost always about that. If you have a $2m umbrella, amazing how often the payout is close to that. Just the way the courts work with insurance.

I doubt if they're gonna tell some sap that he lives in a trailer park and makes shit - he'll get 40K, but this guy with the same injury is a lawyer, we'll give him 500K?

At least I hope not.

Reporting I'm seeing said that the payouts will be based on the severity of the injuries, no mention of using earnings/lifestyle factors.

That judgement sounds nice but is probably half of what it should be. Actually I have no idea how you put a number on someone's injuries and I hope that some of this money DOES NOT go to some bullshit "prevention company" that will work to make events safer. That's something the hotel needs to be doing on it's own.

Still no video of how this guy was able to get all those guns up to his room without being questioned about it.

Lot's of $100 handshakes to the bus boys?

Defendants with long term care will get more money than someone that died. A dead person is only worth their lifetime financial capacity, maybe some loss
of consortium (if married) plus add a little more for family main earner. Lifetime medical care is huge cost.
