MGM staggered property re-openings

Just looking to book South Point end of August. Can’t believe what I saw. They LOWERED their resort fee by a third. It was already low at $21 in comparison to most places but now it is $14 per night.

I hear you Merlín. The Garden buffet is closed, which was one of the coupons they included at check in as part of the resort fee. The wifi in the room, pool, gym will still be available but maybe more limited. Some drink coupons and if you flew in a valuable perk is the free airport shuttle for guests to and from the airport. But $14 is cheap. A couple of drinks cost that most casinos further up the strip.

I'd be surprised if the gym is open, perhaps the pool too at first, anyway IMO there should be no resort fee, it was never a real fee, just a way to extort more money without jacking up listed rates.

How rigorously is that enforced?
I used to get on casino shuttles in the 90’s in Reno, even tho I wasn’t staying at the casino.
Never challenged.

I assume I couldn’t get away with that nowadays, but has anyone tried recently?

Can't speak for anywhere else but this 100% still works in Reno.

There are still crowd laws limiting events to 50 people. For Las Vegas to recover, they need to be allowed to fully reopen and have the conventions with thousands of people.

Betting sheets and pencils will be available at the Westgate only by request at the counter, and customers will be asked to dispose of the pencils after use.

Doomed. It's never gonna be the same without the Sheets. Yeah, let me have one of everything? Everything? Yeah, never mind. I'll bet Offshore from now on and avoid The Plague and the Tourist(s). Please send my Registered mail-sent Futures refunds and Lost Ticket claim before Christmas, guys. Was nice knowing ya. So many memories killed by one Bat.

It's ramping on quickly from what I've heard. Obviously it's still low compared to normal but I bet in another month or so many planes will be packed again.

of course possible but the people took losses in income so i think it won't get better for casino's anytime soon. Golden Nugget owner said he is real down in business all over the
country with his restaurants too.

They just opened up, give it a little time. I went to a local indian casino that just opened this week, it was slow, but i was there late morning on a weekday, but there were hundreds of people in there. I did not like the plastic partitions at the blackjack table one bit - killed the vibe. Other than that there were no real covid restrictions, maybe 30% of people wore masks.

Mountaineer casino opened yesterday at 10 am.
There was a line of people around the building waiting to get in. I left and came back at 3 in the afternoon, same thing couldn't get in. Tried again at 10 in the evening. Forget about it, lines of people out on the street.
Might try again today.

I still see a lot of chicago people here wearing masks. I would say a good 75%, probably higher.
