I am not a fan of fedde...might be the worst cardinal starter..skubal is excellent...but the cardinals could be better than the cubs.and a solid dog in the division.... the cardinals look pretty good here IMO....cards/fedde gave the phillies a tough time with luzardo on the hill

I didn't even know about the fly ball from Judge that should have been caught had he run hard for it. The bigger problem than him not hustling is the fact he doesn't think it's an issue
IMO it comes down to heart, I dont think he likes to play baseball, he got his money and hitting HR's is fun, but hustling down the bases or after another teams batted balls doesn't interest him. Bad fielders also know that if they dont get a glove on the ball it wont be an error, why hustle if I might drop it and look bad?

Now I understand that you dont have to run 100% on every play, it's a long season and injuries happen, but you must run 100%(or how about 95%) on some of the plays and it cant be the rare exception.

It's amazing Antonio Senzatela is still in a starting rotation in MLB. I realize its brutal to pitch half your games at Coors, but it almost feels like the Rockies are seeing how bad this guy's stats can be.

buehler of the red sox gets thrown out arguing strikes = knucklehead

it's a home game against a tough team

Kyle Hendricks average FB is 86.2, lowest amongst MLB starters.

Its amazing he still effective especially 2nd and third time thru a batting order...first 3 innings, yikes! 🙈

hendricks at one time struck out 7- 8.3 per nine innings ...now striking out 5 - 6 per nine innings... he is depending on his fielders

Skubal getting a lot of respect today, that line looks high to me, I had the game closer to -150, even though I find value in the Cardinals, do I want to fade Skubal, no I do not. I played a NRFI, let's get a scoreless first and I don't care what happens the rest of the way
I don't bet his games, then I kick myself. The combo of an underrated ace on a smaller market team is great value. I wonder how many would have Skubal in their top 3-5 pitchers?

Hendricks was very good for a number of seasons. We are so obsessed with velocity and strikeouts, it’s way overdone for starting pitchers. I used to love to bet on Hendricks w the Cubs when the wind was blowing in. He understood pitching to contact could be one’s friend, and keep pitch counts down. There’s a guy on the Bet US podcast who said he HATES Hendricks; not because of lost bets, but because of lack of velocity. That’s insane.

It's funny with the field in Sacramento. The dimensions are almost identical to Oakland Alameda but the ball flys out of there.

I realize the backdrop is different, not as enclosed but visiting team look like the 61 Yankees when they come in.

As mentioned this morning with Gil Alexander, Padres 0-32 with RISP is amazing. Not far from MLB record.

No marine layer in Sacramento and warmer temps than Oakland.

Word to the mlb betting wise.....Tauchman and Benintendi left handed bats make a big difference in WSox lineup now that they're back
as evidenced the last 2 games.

Since the 0-19 start, Devers has on OBP of .450 and leads the league in RBI’s.

It wasn't just an 0 for 19 slump. He was terrible the first 25 games or so. Here's his numbers thru April 25. Batting under .200; 30% strikeout rate, not hitting for power.

Speaking of Royals, that dude they drafted 6th overall is just crushing! Knocking the cover off the ball.

Yeah he's a Gator but I really believe he's the real deal.

He will have a quick trip through the minors.

And he's STILL knocking the cover off the ball. Raked in AA as expected......

Recently promoted to AAA and has hit 5 homers in 6 games, currently homered in 4 consecutive games including 2 today.

Royals desperately need power, this guy is the real deal, how long can they keep him in the minors?

He'll be playing in the bigs by Independence Day.

Think they're trying to get him groomed to play RF, no idea how that's going but you find a spot for a guy hitting like this.

Go Gators.

plenty of hitting for the red sox.... need another starter to pitch better.
More than one- after Crochet it’s been a bunch of mediocrity and inconsistency. Hauck has been terrible since the 2nd half of last year. They may have to move Whitlock back into the rotation. Bello looks great one night and terrible the next. I think with Anthony set to come up, they may move Abreu or Duran for a pitcher.

I saw Ohtani throw pre-game the other day. Really good movement, etc...

But guys, what a risk, no?

Angels DFA Tim Anderson. Textbook example of a guy just losing it. Hit .309 with 17 HRs in 2021. Still hit over .300 in 2022 but HRs fell to 6. From 2023, he can't even hit for average anymore. He had a shot with the Marlins last year. This likely the final MLB stop. Maybe he ends up playing in Korea or Mexico.

Maybe but when you are getting paid $60m a year, they are paying for 2 players.

That's the popular logic but I think the contract has more to do with his marketing and sponsor appeal more than anything else.

Moreover, if I'm Roberts I shutter every time he goes to the mound with the possibility of losing him as a hitter.
