MLB 2025

The only other rookie that was called up and went nuts like A's Kurtz was another lefty Kevin Maas for the Yankees.

Unfortunately he turned out to be a flash in the pan.

Remember Aristides Aquino for the Reds? Hit a bunch of HRs as a rookie then disappeared.

Glad I don't have any Josh Wilson ROY tickets, kid looked like a lock until this monster got called up

Snakes management must have held their collective breaths when Suarez got HBP in last night's game, turns out X Rays were negative, and I see he's doubtful for tonight's game. I wonder if they're better of just sitting him anyway, assuming they move him it will happen in the next couple of days, why risk an injury

Hats off to the Brewers front office for continually making the right moves pre trade deadline. Andrew Vaughn with 6 RBI tonight and 21 in 15 games since joining Milwaukee.

Dominguez a member of the Orioles for game 1 of DH with Toronto. Between games, he’s traded to the Jays. He actually pitched an inning for the Jays in game 2.

Back in the 80s, Joel Youngblood was on the Mets playing an afternoon game at Wrigley. During the game, he singled off future Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins. Midway through the game, he’s traded to the Expos, who are playing in Philly. He arrives in the middle of the game and pinch hits. Once again, he gets a hit off another future HoFer, Steve Carlton. Nobody since has gotten hits for 2 different teams in the same day.

The Brewers have become the Rays of the NL, they don't have the money that other teams do, so they have to make good decisions when it comes to the draft and trades

It was pretty weird watching him switch dugouts between games, to make the story weirder, the minor leaguer the O's acquired also switched dugouts, the Jays minor league team was playing the O's minor league team, so the traded minor leaguer just switched dugouts before the game

Seattle is becoming Arizona North with them first adding Naylor and now Suarez.

Feeling much better about my Mariners +400 bet to win the West.

The Phillies needed a center fielder, the big names on the market are Kwan, Mullins, and Robert, the Phillies end up with Harrison Bader. Not a bad player, good glove, but not the splash I expected
He's solid but not in the "very good" category, nice glove and he looks good in the uniform, he wears tight ouffits and looks ripped, I guess that helps.

Not good for keplers playing time.

What are teams like the Royals and Rays doing trading for players? I'd throw the Reds in there as well. If you are trading hoping you have a shot at the 2nd wildcard, you have no business trading. I know San Diego added a lot, and I think they believe they could win the division, but we'll see a year or 2 from now if the Miller & Sears trade was worth giving up the #3 prospect in MLB.

In general, teams were giving up too much for bullpen help, IMO.

The Twins traded away 11 of their 25 rostered players. Shockingly, their game tomorrow still up at some outlets.

unloading salary could be a reason why a team gets rid of players. Get a cheaper player and build for the future. rinse repeat. again, and again. It's a business before anything. Winning is 2nd. When all else fails and you start to lose money...you make a deal with your city or another city. The new city pays for infrastructure forever and the team builds a stadium after they secure naming rights and licenses The wealthy teams/cities get away with the city paying for more and bury the story.

the fans ...well they get the Fell for it Again Award.

I'm not questioning the teams dumping players/salaries. I'm questioning the ones adding. KC and Tampa should not be adding.

One new factor for the Cubs/O's game today: heavy smoke from the Canada wildfires. I think this is the only game affected today but Cleveland might tomorrow.

Halos only 4 games out of a WC go to discount center and pick up retread relievers and infielder who can't hit.

Bright side, premium beer remains at $17.

Guardians Under 82.5

This Minnesota team is so bad now, anyone with a RSW on any of the other AL Central teams has to factor in how many games against this awful Twins squad.

Detroit 7 remaining
White Sox 7
Cleveland 6
Kansas City 6
NY Yankees 6

When you look at the terrible lineups Minnesota, the White Sox and Cleveland trot out daily, its going to be almost impossible for anyone to beat Skubal in the Cy Young.

Will "Mr. Skenes Goes to Coors" be rated R or G?

The R case is his pitch mix; under 50% fastballs & changeups. About 37% sliders and sinkers.

The G case is before he pitched at LSU, he pitched at Air Force so he's had experience pitching in elevation. What I didn't know was he batted .410 one season at Air Force and was 10th in the nation in doubles. Considering the weakness of the Pirates lineup, maybe they should forego the DH.

I have to side with the G rating. With elite stuff, maybe he overcomes the pitch mix negatives. And having plenty of experience in elevation, maybe he alters the pitch mix to fit the conditions.

Every trade the twins made sucked - we traded varland(a very good reliever) and ty france for a guy hitting .200(roden)

Varland had pitched in 50 games and has a 1.98 ERA.

I watched that game last night. The Twins should've been shut out. A dumb mistake by the Cleveland reliever throwing away a ball he should never have thrown led to both runs. Ryan is very good but he will have to be. This team just isn't going to score, and the bullpen has been depleted.

The idiot twins manager Rocco said last night that he met with the team pre game and told them that they are there for one reason - to win games, lol.

At least the organization is realistic. They weren't going to the playoffs, so no need to be buying assets. It was just startling to see 11 of 25 rostered players traded.

I was shocked the Giants traded 'Yaz'....he was probably, after Posey their most popular player.

Naturally his first AB with KC, a homerun.

Phillies raped the Twins….
I don't think so, the Phillies paid a steep price for Duran, he'll for sure help them, but the Twins made out alright as well, the two prospects they got are both ranked in MLB's top 100 prospects, the pitcher they got, Mick Abel, was in the Phillies rotation part of the year, I think this will end up a win/win for both teams

Yaz might have been popular, but he's not anything special, he's a JAG

The Marlins have the second best record in baseball the past 7 weeks, behind only Milwaukee

The Marlins. Milwaukee and the White Sox 10-4 since the All Star break. The WS will blow right through their RSW total. Might not even lose 100 games.
