MLB 2025

if the tigers lose it.....is the tiger collapse the worst in our lifetime?

First was the 64 Phillies…second was Rail starting out 15-1 in Mr Bowling’s EOG football contest and then finishing out of the money…third was me going 15-6 in the EOG Grand Challenge and not cashing…

I still lol that Snell makes more per year than the entire Brewer pitching staff.

4th was me starting out 17-9-1 in the EOG Challenge only to finish 17-12-1.

The Orioles who need pitching trade Grayson Rodriguez to Halos for Tyler Ward.

Ward is 31 with a expiring contract, Halos control Rodriguez for 4:years.

Halos didn't need Ward with the emergence of Adell...if Rodriguez can stay healthy....

Bellinger is now slightly above journeyman status. His 47 hr yr was long ago.

I've got news for you. THAT is not a journeyman. I wouldn't give him a 7 year contract but for a 2-3 year? Yes, very big money.

How many players hit over 25 HRs and batted over .270 last year and struck out under 100 times? A total of 4.

How many players did all three in 2023? A total of 6.

19th in WAR in 2025 and 30th in 2023.

Bellinger can hit, hit for power, play defense at a high level both in the outfield and at 1B. And won't hurt you running the bases. That's a player who will command a lot of money.

Trivia for the audience: who were the other 3 players in 2025 to hit 25 or more HRs, bat .270 or higher, and strike out less than 100 times?

The problem with signing these guys is they want long term deals. 2-3 years is fine but they want 8-10 years like Pujols & others have received. No way these guys can perform at the huge money they will be making at the end of these long contracts!

I've never been in favor of anything over 4 years, as injury and aging risk too much.

I remember Mark Grace always went 1 year deals. Gambling you will not get a major injury, but he made a lot of money doing that.

The Angels have several OFs with good power/no average so Ward was definitely expendable. Baltimore has had several pitching prospects that improved with the scenery change; Jake Arrieta and Kevin Gausman come to mind.

Ok, last year was a bit better, but what happened the 3 yrs before that? bellinger is a guy who could hit 30+ hr's and close to .300 - or he could hit 15 hr's and bat .210. In other words he's not reliable.

I wonder if the Halos are going to make a run for Bellinger now that they've freed up over 13 million. They could use a big bat from the left side.

Injuries and changing his two strike approach.
