He was very good before the injury. But what I saw a week ago or so was a guy far from MLB level. A team could take a flyer on him but need to build back his confidence in AA or AAA.Before his injury I thought he had a chance to be really good, in 2022 he had 30 starts and pitched to a 2.96 ERA, I wouldn't mind if the Reds or Marlins picked him up, surprised the Guardians have given up on him, only 27
I was wrong, the Rockies are an embarrassment to the sportI don't know, I just think Col will have a better record than Mia so I'm going with FG
Me too, he will be scooped up fast. Before his injury I thought he had a chance to be really good, in 2022 he had 30 starts and pitched to a 2.96 ERA, I wouldn't mind if the Reds or Marlins picked him up, surprised the Guardians have given up on him, only 27

Oliver and Garvey aren't half the player Trout is, the latter part of his career has been injury riddled, it's easy to forget how dominant he was in his prime, 100% a first ballot guy.297 avg ...1662 hits...not even 400 hrs.....i admit there are probably with less..... if he was in NYC...he would get in...i do not think mattingly is not in without checking
oliver and garvey are more deserving

Yes, Mike Trout is widely considered a lock for the Baseball Hall of Fame. His career achievements, including three MVP awards, 11 All-Star selections, and numerous other accolades, make him a strong candidate for first-ballot induction.
- First Ballot Expectations:
Most experts anticipate Trout will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, based on his current accomplishments.
Harold Baines tells me the HOF is not perfect, but that has nothing to do with Trout, he's a lockremember ralph kiner is in the hall of fame...he did way less than trout...so that tells you the HOF is not perfect

Al Oliver? A very steady, good player. But definitely not Hall of Fame. There were at least 3 other Pirates that pitchers feared more. Not close to the player Trout is (when he is on the field).
They changed the strike zone. The high strike now gets called whereas 15 years ago and longer, it wouldn’t. Trout was considered the best player in MLB for at least 5 years. Oliver was never better than the 3rd best player on the Pirates. Dominance is more important than just accumulating stats. I do agree Garvey should be in.fear has nothing to do with the HOF...there are singles hitters like jeter than are in.......jeter had 3000 hits
trout needs more years for me , to get my vote to get in...1600 hits IMO doesn't get you in unless death Al oliver had 2700 hits and higher batting average than trout
all star games are voted by 8 year old kids...
.they also changed the strike zone for more homers....pete rose said this

3rd best on the team with clemente and stargell both hall of famers
A distant 3rd. Clemente and Stargell were 10 lengths clear of Oliver. Or Robertson. Or Hebner.
If Judge's career ended today? Yeah, I think he would be in. He's been dominant. How many years did Sandy Koufax pitch? It's about dominance.
agree...koufax would not be in hall of fame with those stats today...he would be a good pitcher not great pitcher today
he played for the dodgers...very popular...but not in my book
i can't put judge in yet..he has only 1000 hits..give me another 5-7 years... i can put trout in 4 more years...i got minimums
Koufax was before my time but I know he was dominant. The best pitcher in MLB for most of his career. I guess one needs a certain amount of counting stats, but dominance is more important, IMO. Ohtani? A Hall of Famer right now.
i cannot put ortani in yet...wait time...
i looked up roger hornsby ...who only had 1500 hits...but hit .358...and 301 homers
Very dominant but so was his teammate , Don Drysdale, with 50 and then some scoreless innings. Not sure if he still holds that record but it was set, I believe, the night Bobby Kennedy was murdered in the Ambassador Hotel's kitchen (about 10 miles from Chavez Ravine).Koufax was before my time but I know he was dominant. The best pitcher in MLB for most of his career. I guess one needs a certain amount of counting stats, but dominance is more important, IMO. Ohtani? A Hall of Famer right now.
No, IMO trout is a hall of famer but big deal, you have to put someone in.if judge leaves the game right now do you put him in the hall of fame?

Even though he sucks this year he's on pace for 40+ hr's - if he stays healthy which he prob wont.
Trout is 33, this should be his prime, yea perhaps the speed is dropping at that age but the power and hitting ability should be at his top. As far as I know he has no excuse this year regarding injuries, etc. Was he juicing, is that why he got hurt a lot and why he's fallen off?
So who is worse, Colorado or the White Sox? This should be an interesting race to the bottom.
Colorado 1-12 in their last 13 games
White Sox 2-10 in their last 12 games
Also worthy of note: Texas 10 unders in their last 11 games. Don't see that reversing until Corey Seager comes back.
Lets see if it's the same old thing with him - he's pulled out without a really obvious injury(perhaps a slight hitch in his giddyup), he says it doesn't feel that bad and he expects to be back out there tomorrow or soon. Then it'll stretch into a week, then several weeks, pretty soon we'll be looking at post all star game, finally he "might" appear in late aug or sept. Here we go again with Trout:

'Weird feeling': Trout exits with knee soreness, hopes to play Thursday
SEATTLE -- The lineup changes that manager Ron Washington drew up during Monday's off-day began to bear fruit in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Mariners to cap a two-game set at T-Mobile Park. But a promising start on both sides of the ball was dampened by an injury to Angelswww.mlb.com
