NFL WEEK 1

Yeah line probably moves, I'm hoping I get a +4.5. Houston is a mess but really a 1-15 team favored by over an FG with a bunch of roster turnover seems crazy to me.

Interesting, top three fantasy league NFL backs in 2017 are no longer in the league.

Glanville right.....NFL, not for long.

Pinnacle at 9.5 for tonight.

They must have been hammering TB in teasers on 8.5.

If you are in a Survivor pool, consider using 2 entries, taking Houston in one and Jacksonville in the other for week 1. Unless it ends in a tie, you will advance, and you burn a bad team while others are using strong teams.

bloomberg had the disney CEO on ... he said ESPN + will be getting bigger sports events in 2023 ... so expect an increase in price on that.. They also asked about will ESPN become a sportsbook. He did not say yes or no.

Disney today in stocks + 0.41%

Why bother being a sportsbook when they can somehow con a sportsbook out of $3bn to be some sort of promotional partner? Frankly its dumb, sports books aren't really going to differentiate themselves, just advertise more than the others and get business in some cases. Or just get sharper players who sign up for them all. To say DK is a much better book than FD or whatever, how do you say that? As long as you aren't on their shit list and getting lousy limits, does anyone really care that much which book they place their bets in?

So let some fool out there pay them this $3bn fee they talk about, its free money. They don't need the headache of a money losing for years book.

it won't be the losing money of the book to worry about if you are ESPN.. it could be the signup fees to use ESPN the bettor gives them when they have video and access to games . The CEO said ESPN plus will be much bigger in 2023. The main games will be off ESPN with a move to PLUS. Expect the wars of the big providers to start soon

the casual fan is the big loser here. The bettor would be next with more fees just to play

next year...you have to have amazon to get the thursday night games..amazon has the sole rights....watch them go to 150-175 next year

I can't think of one single favorite I'm betting this Sunday. No, I'm not on Detroit, but I'm passing that game. Does anyone really want to lay points with a road team coming off a 1-15 season? Do you want to lay more than a TD against a team with a strong defense (Chicago) while the opponent is arguably the most (over) hyped team in the league? Under Tomlin, what happens to bettors who bet against the Steelers when they are dogs? It's not good. Do you want to lay more than a FG on the road with a team who's clear top 2 RBs are out and you now face an opponent playing for the first time with fans in their new stadium? I guess Minnesota would be one favorite that I'd consider. But that's about it.

Teasing to -2.5 is a big pet peeve of mine.
Teasing week 1 is just plain dumb. None of us knew how Dak was going to hold up. If he came out and laid an egg you would have been fine with TB laying the spread and if he looked like a new and improved version you would be fine taking the points. Not to mention you still have to hit other leg if you did hit.

I agree that teasers work much better as the season progresses. 2 has become a somewhat important number, so why tease to 2.5? Playing them after the line moves is better, but if you know the money is going on TB, why wait and take the bad number?

Dak was on pace last year for 6000 yards shattering the record. It was his line we were worried about not Dak or his wide receivers who are an embarrassment of riches. Dak had plenty of time surprisingly , good things to come

The OL issues on the road in week 1 was the reason I liked the TB/Rams teaser as long as I could get both under 2.

You do know that Dak was coming back from a severe ankle injury and suffered a shoulder strain (throwing shoulder) earlier in camp? Not worried about him lol

Yes this wasn’t inside information, the assurances were shoulder not an issue and his throws were crisp in camp

Rams game getting to be like the Tampa game. Just going to see how high this number gets and take the way too generous points.

Maybe on of the biggest wrong side favored was JAX.

What did they show in preseason with a first year everything?

And yes I bet HOU.

I didn't play that one, but a team coming off a 1 win season, with a rookie QB and a rookie head coach, making their first start on the road and laying points, don't know how anyone could have played Jax today

NFL coaches are just something else. Steelers must have a collective IQ of 50, seriously how do you kick an FG at the 2 when you are down by 7? Almost as good as the Panthers punting on the Jets 33. Just amazing how dumb ass coaches play so conservative because they fear for their jobs.

One thing I like from the Eagles today is going for it when they should.

nagy being aggressive with 2 4th down attempts.

goes 0-2.

becomes scared and starts putting when in plus territory.

Bears secondary has issues. And not one but two DBs gave up on that first bomb. OK, you’re beaten but just touch the receiver and he’s down at the 12.
