WELCOME to our 6th annual NHL Handicapping Contest.

This year's (2019/20) NHL HANDICAPPING CONTEST HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A LACK OF INTEREST.

If you sent money, a refund has been sent back.

1). The entry fee is $100 U.S. Dollars and all winnings will be paid in U.S. Dollars. For Canadians, that amount is approximately $137.00. The top 4 finishers will get paid and the amount will be determined by the number of participants.

The breakdown of prizes are as follows:

1st place 70%

2nd place 20%

3rd place 10%

4th place gets their entry fee back.

This is a 100% PAYOUT, meaning the host takes nothing.

2). This contest is open to everyone and is being hosted at covers.com

Request permission to join by contacting Sherwood or Bushay

sherwood888@gmail.com

@sportswagers3 on TWITTER

bushay44@yahoo.com

After you join, you are required to pay and if your entry isn't paid by puck drop on the first day of the contest, you will be removed, no questions asked. Registration will be open until October 31st and those wanting to join after the season starts will be required to pay first before joining.

There are two ways to pay for your entry:

1). Send a Canadian email money transfer to sherwood888@gmail.com for exactly 137.51

A password is not required to send.

137.51 CAD = $100.00 USD.

2) Send a $100 PAYPAL payment to bushay44@yahoo.com so that he receives exactly $100 U.S. Dollars. Make sure you use the option of “sending money to family or friends”.

In the notes when sending payment, please include the USERNAME you used when joining. That's all you need to put in the notes. Just your username and nothing else.

3). Once requested, you will be sent a link to join (you can also copy and paste it into your browser) and you will be guided through the process for joining this pool, including registering on the website if you need to.

Here are the rules:

1). You must make EXACTLY 200 picks, (no more, no less) to qualify for a prize. If you make less than 200 plays, you will not qualify. Once you reach 200 plays, your season is over no matter how long is left in the season.

2). This contest will deal with LIVE LINES at COVERS and will include sides and totals. The contest will start on Monday, October 7 and end on Monday March 30, which is not the last day of the season so make sure your 200 plays are in by March 30. As per COVERS rules, which we have no control over, the season must start on a MONDAY and end on a MONDAY.

PLEASE NOTE: Your name will not appear in the standings until you make at least one play. Once you have made your first play, your name will appear and every wager placed will automatically be for 100 units.

3). There are no minimum or maximum plays per week, day or month. You need 200 plays and it is up to you how to distribute those 200 plays. Pushes will not count as plays. In other words, if you pick a total under or over 6 and it lands on 6, it will not count towards your 200 plays. This is important to note because if you have 199 plays on the last day of the contest and you choose a total that pushes, you will end up with 199 plays and not qualify for a prize.

4). If a game is not played within 24 hours of scheduled time or at original venue listed, then selection is not counted.

5). Deadline for each game will be puck drop.

6). In the event of a tie in the standings, prize money will be split evenly between the tied teams. There will be no tie-breakers.

7). Standard Las Vegas rules apply on suspended games and any other situations that aren't covered here.

8). Order of finish will be determined by units won.

9). Plays made the last day of the contest may be hidden to ensure fairness.

10). In the event of the site being down, which is extremely rare but it could happen, you will not be able to make plays until the issue is fixed and site is running again.

11). Multiple entries are not allowed

12). The standings and all picks will be displayed at all times and will always be accessible at covers.com We also attempt to update standing weekly at this website here: https://www.sportswagers.ca/fantasy_hockey/

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE and have a great year.

We are expecting a prize pool of around $5000.00 or 50 players.

The great thing about participating is that for a small investment, it keeps you engaged all season long and you also have a great chance at a large payout.

Cancelling the contest is the best move. The contest SUCKED! ANY NHL contest that did not allow for PL plays to be made is a contest that shouldn't be allowed to happen

By the closing Pinnacle lines at SBR the biggest dog yesterday was a 1-5 loser with the Sharks +152 @ Sin City. The biggest dog of the day record went to 5-8 L13 & 2-7 L9 & 2-3 L5. For Friday's action tomorrow (Pinnacle lines):

Chicago/Flyers over 2 +123, under 2 -140

I am tempted to take the under, but these are the Blackhawks who had an amazing percentage of 1P overs (1.5) last year. On the drop down menu @ Pinnacle the over 1.5 is priced at -159 & the under 1.5 at +137. Also on offer there are other 1P totals ranging from o/u 0.5 to o/u 3.5 goals.

BTW that game starts early, 11 AM PST, 2 PM EST.

Toronto/CBJ over 2 +121, under 2 -139

That one is even more tempting than the game above.

NYI/Caps over 1.5 -115, under 1.5 +101

The other two games for Friday, Jets at NJ & Sin City @ the Sharks, have no lines yet:

https://www.pinnacle.com/en/hockey/n...luded/matchups

https://www.sportsbookreview.com/bet...?date=20191004

On Thursday 1P unders (1.5 goals) continued their scorching hot run by going 5-3. In the previous 7 days to that, including the preseason, they were 2-2, 1-2, 7-2, 3-2, 5-2, 4-5 & 4-1-1 (26-16 u/o). Including Thursday the record is 31-19 u/o. After two days of the regular season it is 7-5 u/o. Those unders have generally been priced as underdogs.

Will the overs cash on Friday? Where is the value, if any?

Feel like I've read about 85% of opinion on the Devils tonight which may be worth a fade. Lots of hype for NJ wih the draft and key players they brought in. Winnipeg still more talented and the impact of a b2b from NY to the Island shouldn't be too stressful even this early on.

What a comeback by the Jets, down 4 goals at one point & by 3 entering the 3P, to tie it by the end of regulation & then win!

Presently the Dead Things +197 @ Cashville is leading the pack of dogs for Saturday's many games as the biggest dog of the day. And it's not even close with the Cafucks +160 at the Flames in second place. Though 4 games are still OTB: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/betting-odds/nhl-hockey/

On Friday the dogs had their fourth bad day in a row, losing 3 of 5 games SU (don't underdogs usually do well to start the season?). Home teams went a miserable 1-4.
