This has to be one of the biggest clusterfucks in bookmaking history.

All the screwy (or greedy) FanDuel lines are as referenced above, but consider the NBA Summer league lines, 40c on both 1st half, game and total spreads, yet I compared FanDuel MLs versus Pinnacle, e.g. FD +165/-200 vs Pinny +175/-208 for the Heat/Celtics game. Similarly on 3 other summer league games, gaps were only 1,2, and 6 cents off Pinny's MLs.

Obviously, someone forgot to screw the customer on these MLs. :)

Re: NJ sports book news

As Dorothy might say, there's no place like . . . Vegas, at least for the moment.

Well, and the offshores of course. . . . .

Still holding true so far.

Having only a few or worse yet only one out in an area is not conducive to competitive pricing.

Mississippi might prove to be a better bettor's market, with more outs within each area.

Still watching to see what the Nevada-based operators will do with their pricing in the east coast markets.

Hopefully, the back east bettors will balk at the ridiculous FanDuel prices.

FWIW, Their NFL Football lines were industry standard. That's where they'll sink or swim, but if they want to do business besides Football, they better get their vig act together quickly.

Been my opinion for months that my belief the best shops will be located in MS. two years from now, as far as states outside of Nevada is concerned.

Are the Fanduel lines posted anywhere on line?
What to see if it is worth making the drive there today?

Meadowlands wk 1 NFL lines -110

No surprise as these games aren't played for almost two months and the lines have been available offshore and in Nevada for months. Their clientele are not so stupid to bet 30c NFL lines, especially when mobile apps by Will Hill and others in NJ will probably be available by wk 1 of the NFL football season.

Bob's post above is spot on..many recreational guys don't fully understand MLB dime line vs 20c line but they all know they lay 110 to win 100 with their local when betting football. I have one out who never juices a NFL 3 ..every time he went -115 -105 he had customers accusing him of raising the vig.

very true pippy . In the days when newspapers had america's line printed the lines said : even-6 or 6-7 for the games. So bettors got the wide line as office people called it. When writing the bettors could not get the dime line unless they knew of it . About less than 10 % knew of a dime line and wanted it.

What I found interesting on the Fan Duel Football lines is they were ALL -110. No -115/-105, etc. I wonder if they will keep to that policy, and move the numbers instead. I believe Southpoint does that. Might lead to some advantageous Football line shopping in NJ.

true, and what happens when the giants or jets play someone at home. The app will be out by then. The fans will be sitting in their seats with plenty time to play.

I kinda doubt that. They will rob you at every chance I think.Their baseball lines sucked.

The Meadowlands was packed today.Stopped inside Victory Lounge/Bar and the betting lines were huge.I would say about 7 betting windows.Didn't hang around too long was a little more interested in catching a few races.

Yes should be correct that online/apps will make them adjust when they are not pulling anywhere near what they think they will.

would'nt they just layoff the lopsided local money where local markets are out of sink, have to think they'll have that ability fairly quickly

well in nevada they can do it but I do not know if they can in NJ. It could very well be in the laws already.

Re: NJ sports book news

Rhode Island did sign their "venue-limited" sports betting into law.

There are lots of signs that RI will fall far short of their revenue goals (ridiculous estimates that could be called "political fantasy" .. LOL). Start date isn't until October 1, 2018.

It will be very hard for IGT to underperform the scumbags at Cantor Gaming who had one employee convicted of a federal crime, their President forced to resign, having to cease "in-progress" wagers because of incompetent bookmaking, and not even being able to correctly compute parlay payouts.

I wouldn't worry about IGT's risk management, they have way more experience in gaming than CGT and RI's handle will probably be miniscule compared to most books in Nevada.

Going back and looking this, I think you are way off on the handle in RI.

When it first opens, the handle will be very high.. much higher than the average book in Vegas. There is a huge sports betting market in Boston and providence. It’s bookies and gambling galore. The local casinos are always packed.

The handle that they will be getting from neighboring states ma and ct will be huge.

Now once ct and mass get it legalized, most likely in early 2019, Rhode Island handle will be bad cause those other states will do it much better.

Re: NJ sports book news

Well, on the flip side, though, if Massachusetts and Connecticut bettors perhaps can get better numbers, credit, and no currency transaction and/or tax paperwork and tracking with their local . . . .
