I can understand that. I could have just bet down at my favorite sports bar back in Baton Rouge, but I flew out here then and then moved out here in 2003. But given that I worked for a federal court, the prospect of getting caught up -- even indirectly -- in a bookie bust was not a good downside risk.
So it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the various jurisdictions. I'm not ready to count locals and offshores out just yet here in the early going. Hopefully, at the very least, the presence of that sort of competition will keep the legal books somewhat honest with their pricing, etc.

Didn’t mean it like that. Just think he’s a little off pertaining to handle considering RI will have a monopoly on legal sports betting in New England for this coming football season. Everyone and their moms will be lining up to bet the patriots

ballys's & harrahs (caesars ) , golden nugget, resorts ( draftkings ) put their paperwork in . I don't know if Hard Rock ( Bet365 ) beat the deadline for 2018.
still on the outside : atlantic city has until 2020 to open, freehold and garden state are given a small shot . These 3 have little agreements with the state of NJ.
Tropicana not giving out any info yet. I don't know if they met the NJ deadline in 2018 which already past. I think there is a sale with eldorado that is holding it up.
All of this info is for N.J. outs.

Has anyone recently stayed at the borgata and bet sports there for a few days? Been a while since i been at borgata and the fact that you could bet sports there with straight cash seems enticing like in vegas.
But as of now, all wagers 1k or more have to be approved right?

Yes, I'm there a lot but haven't bet more than $200 on a game so idk what the policy is on wagers over a dime.

Yes. That's true, but it is not a time consuming practice. Much like a BJ dealer calling out action. I was behind a guy who made 3 bets for 1100 each-- and the clerk just called it out-- Guy nodded, she ran the tickets.
I can't wait for football. It's going to be sooo much fun down there.

We love football in the south, especially college. Can not wait to visit Biloxi this fall. Atmosphere gonna be electric.

I guess people myself included quick to jump on them after their inauspicious start..they will need to rethink this policy. Its not like Vegas where many just wake up and walk down to the book in the am to cash out..There are a lot of day trippers etc that will be turned off by having to return or get paid via mail.

I remember when Vegas books were opened 24 hours during football weekends. My last trip was thanksgiving weekend a few years ago. Most if not all books were closed late night, opened 7am.
