For many years, bookmakers Lenny Del Genio (Bally's) and John Avello (Wynn) would post odds for the Academy Awards.

The odds always listed the following disclaimer: For entertainment purposes only.

Nevada gaming law now allows for sports books to post on odds on such events but many of the bookmakers do not want to go through the burdensome approval process to offer wagering on the special event.
