The links take you to a fake PayPal site (looks just like the real thing) with a URL of pc-butterfield.com, where you can log in with any old email address and password. My eog.com email address is not included in my PayPal account, yet that is where the email was sent. They ask you for your credit card information, including the 3-digit security code. I contacted PayPal directly and they tell me it is indeed fraudulent.

Just a warning in case anyone else gets this.

I get these once in a while, too. One thing to remember is, if it is Paypal trying to contact you, they will state YOUR NAME in the email.

Another new thing is anything eBay (and possibly Paypal, not sure) sends you will also show up in your inbox when you sign in to eBay.

Do what I do, reply to those emails a few times but list bogus info that looks real so at least these assholes waste time trying to steal from us!

I get the paypal and ebay bogus emails about once every 2-3 days. I do have active paypal and ebay accounts but i know that they DO NOT need that info again

I've gotten several of those kinds of things too. Simple rule...never ever click to follow a link regarding any kind of financial account. PERIOD. Ghost sites like this are all over the net. Every bank, financial institution, etc. is being ghosted by these phishers. If you think something might be legit, go to the real site yourself and check it out.

I've been doing what playersonly69 suggested and giving them fake information. Let them keep busy trying to steal the identity of someone who doesn't exist.
