Philadelphia Eagles@ Dallas Cowboys

We have spoken a couple of times this season about how tough the quick Sunday-Thursday turnaround is when both games are the so important divisional match ups. Dallas are coming off a very hard fought win against the Giants, which went right down to the wire and to face the Eagles so soon afterwards is a tough ask. The Eagles had a far easier win over the Titans, we looked at that game and those brief notes, plus some earlier previews on Philly, to supply background info, are reproduced below. The Eagles were never really troubled too much at the weekend, at least in terms of the win, things are rarely easy when giving up a big handicap start, but they did cover. We know that Chip Kelly would have been thinking about this game all the while he was preparing for the Titans and the double header with Dallas over the next 17 days is huge, the Eagles play the Super Bowl champion Seahawks inbetween, that is really tough and if they could find a way to win this, it would lift the pressure immensely.

Tony Romo had so much time in the pocket against the Giants in the second half it was ridiculous, I think even I could have picked out a pass or two and they seem unlikely to give him the same level of protection tonight and I expect Kelly to have a trick or two up his sleeve and give Romo a look at things he hasn't seen before. They won here last year in a game which sent the Eagles to the post season, Romo couldn't play and was replaced by Kyle Orton, but LeSean McCoy had a big day on the ground with 144 yards, he has not been in the same form this season, but had his first 100yard + game in three weeks against the Titans and had his biggest game of the year in another divisional match up ( verses the Giants) so the omens are good that we might see him at his best and he, to see plenty of the ball. Only the 49ers have kept the Eagles to under 350 yards of offense, scoring in the red zone has been a problem, but when McCoy is contributing, that is far less of an issue IMO. The Cowboys pass rush is not that strong and if McCoy can keey Dallas "honest" they will be time for Mark Sanchez to throw the ball, Eagles offense to win this. Either way it should be close, so +3 points looks solid.
