Who knew?

Foresthill did.

Traveling through Nebraska via Interstate-80, I concluded Nebraska was a boring state to visit.

As I understand it, when I-80 was constructed, laying the highway along the Platte River flood plain was the least expensive way to go.

Tough beat for Nebraska's Tourism Bureau.

The sandhills are north of the interstate John, I've never actually been there, flown over many times, it's pretty desolate, whole counties with maybe 300 people.

Understood, mr merlin.

I appreciate Nebraska for several things: I love the city of Omaha (witnessed the College World Series there many times). I appreciate the city of Lincoln and the state's loyalty to the University of Nebraska and I like the pride the state's residents show to their midwestern upbringing.

Now bring back Ak-sar-ben.

Figured out how to do this.

At least I thought I did. Sorry about the double postings, couldn't figure out how to delete them, and accidentally deleted both pictures in other instances. Will try to post those pictures now. There's also, one outstanding panoramic picture I'm unable to post because the file is too big. Enjoy.

When one drives west on I-80 thru Nebraska, you don't realize how much you are climbing once you get west of North Platte. I couldn't believe how quickly the gas gauge was going down then you see the sign for Wyoming and realize you are at 6000 feet elevation.
