Possible wind games

Stony Brook vs Maine gusts up to 36 MPH kick off. There are a lot of others in Maine and CT along with BC but it seems the winds die down just before kickoff.

historical reports mention swirling winds up to 25-30 mph affecting scrimmages and games, making adventures out of forward passes and kicks. Recent weather reports for games at the stadium note light to moderate wind impacts on offense (e.g., 13.4 mph westerly winds with moderate takeaway effects), but no structural features like enclosed sides or wind barriers are designed to mitigate this.

  • yellow CLE @ NYJ Good chance for rain. Winds around 10mph.

  • yellow NYG @ CHI Winds should come in around or a touch over 15mph sustained, with wind gusts in the 25-30mph range. There's also a chance for a bit of rain or snow, but models push most of that through pregame, not in-game, so I'm not too worried about precipitation.

al michaels was claiming 12-15 mph wind, but the ball was rolling after ref placed it, it takes 30ish to move a stationary football

imo its better to check wind in known wind spots like laramie, cheyney, chicago, the line is less likely to be affected than a nfl game. especially fcs games even more so
