A protestor at a recent Congressman Carnahan town-hall meeting
'claims' his knee was injured when he was pushed , after he was
raising hell. He later shows up to the union hall, sitting in a
wheel chair and his knee bandage, and says he is going to sue, but
here it the funny part.
"He was recently laid off and had no health care insurance and was
asking for donations to pay for his medical costs." Dumb and
Dumber...there you have the really bright Grass Roots folks!

Good example of republicans voting against their own self interests.

This thing about health care is not going away. Even republican's insurance premiums are going up it's only a matter of time before it breaks them. Republicans losing their jobs and health care. Insurance companies having less enrollees and making more profits, how is this being done? By charging who's left more money and denying more care. How long can they keep this up?

If someone young and in relatively good health doesn't want to purchase health insurance, that's their prerogative.

I know liberty is a hard concept for 'progressives' to grasp because they've never read that pesky outdated Constitution, so think of it as "pro choice" without murdering a baby.

Mark, most of us Americans are just interested in having access to the type of coverage enjoyed by you who are Canadian citizens. We realize it's not "free" and are willing to absorb reasonable increases in sales tax or income tax to help assure that none of us ever again go bankrupt trying to pay for needed health care procedures.

You know - just like you folks in Canada. Take it as a compliment and stop being ashamed of your parents.

How stupid is it for people to support a system that does them the most damage.

New York Times:

A patient in Illinois was charged $12,712 for cataract surgery. Medicare pays $675 for the same procedure. In California, a patient was charged $20,120 for a knee operation that Medicare pays $584 for. And a New Jersey patient was charged $72,000 for a spinal fusion procedure that Medicare covers for $1,629.

Also, insurance companies are heavily regulated -- and we all know what that means, don't we?

Thanks to government mandates (left wing lobbyists), policies are loaded with coverage people don't want or need, not to mention consumers can't even purchase coverage out of state. Just a couple examples why premiums have skyrocketed in recent years.

Leave it to the demagogic statist to completely FUBAR an industry, then point the finger at "capitalist greed."
