Question Concerning a Sponsor

With all that has been said by Ken recently about the quality of advertisers, and limiting access to the 'top tier', I posed a question to Ryan of High Roller Life that he has coneniently overlooked, and I want to see if EOG management has anything to add on the issue.

On the High Roller Life site, it lists their advertisers/sponsors. One of which is BetOnSports.Com, a site that Ken has very strong feelings about. Here is what is written on the HRL site:

Bet on Sports

(link deleted)

Bet on Sports is recognized globally in the I-gaming industry, this Sportsbook is licensed and operates under the laws of Antigua Barbuda. With 14 years experience in offshore betting you can trust Bet on Sports is a safe bet.

Does it sit well with EOG that one of your 'elite' sponsors touts what many here would refer to as a 'Shit Book'?

They had Royal last I looked also (SC), but it is their business and they can run it how they like sleeper.

trytrytry

All I do is trytrytry
Why do we have a magazine as a sponsor anyway? Can I make wagers with them? Do they serve as a watchdog? What is next a paper towel company? Im being sarcastic but I dont get the whole magazine thing.

BOS advertises everywhere. I'm in Chicago and they have an add in the Chicago Suntimes daily. They are in PFW and almost every football book that I've picked up.

Pete,

I hear what you are saying, but there seems to be some disconnect that statement and something Ken said over at the SBRForum.

I will support any site which tries to raise the bar in this industry by NOT ACCEPTING ad dollars from "BAD" books. Simply put, I believe that if a sports book has a history of "slow pay"s or "no pays", then they should not be afforded the privilege to advertise on a premier gambling portal...

Unfortunately, we are seeing some operators who don't seem to care about which books appear on their web site, and money/greed is the driving force behind this. I suppose they figure that it is the PLAYER'S job to do their due diligence before sending monies abroad, but I disagree. There are some players who will always ASSUME that if a sports book is good enough to appear on an established portal, then they must be SAFE.

It's really time to change our approach. By doing so, posters will respect us more and I believe other "good" sports books will want to follow. If I were an advertiser, I'd much rather appear on a site that was endorsing Caviar over rotten fish...

Your site has a sensational list of sports books appearing at the top of this page and I salute you for it...

Does this mean that Ken will withdraw his support for High Roller Life because they are promoting a known stiff book? That is what he seems to be saying.

Or is it just the 'same old, same old', leopard never changing his spots kind of thang?

Sleeper Hold,

Since I just started up a NEW website, I made a deal with HIGH ROLLER MAGAZINE, not with BOS...

It went down exactly like this...

I like their Owner and Publisher quite a lot as we have met on a few occasions...

I also think their magazine is a good one, so EOG gave HIGH ROLLER a place on this forum in exchange for some advertising and a column from YOURS TRULY to appear in their next issue (OCTOBER)...

I don't support their choice of having BOS as one of their sponsors but I cannot tell them who they can or cannot accept as their sponsors, just as they can't tell us who to accept...

But, I can and will tell everyone on this site that I don't recommend betting at BOS, period...

It is inexcusable for them to NOT PAY OUT on bets that they accepted....

Sleeper...........high roller is a great magazine and not a gambling site so you really do not have much here to go after

Because we have an ad in a magazine does not mean we recommend BOS. We are in Pro Football Weekly print and internet also right on the same page as BOS. BOS offers big cash and some take it. Some Don't.

So basically it was an ad swap with a greedy site operator (HRL) that has no problem sending their readers to stiff books. You are looking to promote EOG alongside BetOnSports in the same publications.

You are willing to promote your site in the same magazine that in your words:
If I were an advertiser, I'd much rather appear on a site that was endorsing Caviar over rotten fish...

Sleeper, if the majority of the posting body felt as you and they really thought we were doing something which was sending players to a non-popular sports book, then we would definately take measures to correct the issue. Thanks for the feedback.

Pete,

My comments are more along the line of choosing your dance partners. Ken has posted multiple times about turning over a new leaf, and how the 'New Shrink' is all about protecting the players. He then turns around to promote his new baby in a site that promotes 'rotten fish' .

Sleeper Hold,

Your point makes absolutely little sense, but I do follow your logic. However, if the WALL STREET JOURNAL were willing to also give EOG an AD SWAP, I'd have no problem displaying the WSJ on the top of this forum...

Oh, did you even know that the WALL STREET JOURNAL wrote a lengthy column about COSTA RICAN BOOKMAKERS that included BOS in a POSITIVE light??

Didn't think you knew that...:hung

Sleeper Hold what is your agenda here??

Lets talk gambling as you seem to have some talent

Good Luck to you guy

I don't think it's necessarily an evil or sleazy thing to do at all, but Ken does seem to be contradicting himself from previous statements.

But like I said, the act itself doesn't concern me.

I just finished reading the stupidest thread of the day and decided to post in it.

Why would EOG not want to add swap with a magazine like High roller? There is no contradiction of The Shrik's Philosophy. He advertised at a magazine that has other advertisers. Stop the presses this is huge forum news.

Not realy sure what Sleeper is digging for, but I guess some guys are just like that.:doh1
