Meaty had a thread where he would show pictures his comped meals. He got shrimp pasta quite often, He would also remark that he was gonna be taking a lady friend to the comped buffet next time. Here's a joke in honor of his lady friends.

Wonder how many people die in Vegas hotel rooms in a year. Counting the fleabag motel rooms and extended stay. Hmmmmmm my guess 6or7 a month. Let's call it 90 people a year. Probably more.
This is very accurate. My runner a decade ago killed himself at the Wynn hotel. I couldn’t believe it never
made the news. Vegas has unprecedented police cooperation with these matters . Avello didn’t even know about it until I told him and he was on premises.

It just sounds like a case of somebody turning into his schtick. I remember reading a lot of his posts years ago and I would always say to myself, he isnt serious, is he? Gotta be an act and show or he would post severely under of the influence like how I would post sometimes. I calmed down a lot because I dont drink as much but like I said, i never got into drugs. Im sure that does wonders kn your brain and body.

Same thing with suicides, they dont report that, not just in vegas either, suicides are generally not reported in any city unless it involves others or is unusual. i knew a guy who laid down in the road at night, it was just reported as a a pedestrian fatality.

This site's founder did (suicide) that and I had my HS basketball scheduler do the same because of gambling debts. Sadly it happens more than we might expect
As for people dying in hotels - that rarely happens. Not saying they don;t die there but paramedics come. take the body away and when it is announced the person died they announce they died in the hospital or on the way. The casinos don't want people to hear that people died in a hotel. Even though it did happen that way. Saying they died en route to the hospital or in the hospital is the S.O.P. for the way things are done in Vegas.

Meatman often bashed Dave Tuley for his fluff articles he wrote as a journalist and accepting comps. He felt it was wrong as a journalist to ask and accept comps from the sportsbooks and casinos he was covering.
Jimmy Vaccaro even jokes about Tuley on VSIN calling him Comp Tuley on the air. He also said Patrick Everson from Covers is always looking for comps.

Meatman was an ex bookie. Small time. He hung out with local credit bookies. Dave hated stiffs big time. Credit Agents have players who don't pay who are on Las Vegas radio Meatman would get orders to call them out on the air. He had dirt on these guys delivered to him by their credit agent.
Dave was very easy to find. Didn't hide. He broadcasted where he would be most nights on the air.

I did respect the fact that he was an upfront asshole.

Very true. I remember in Biloxi people taking their lives, jumping off the parking garage and so on, never a word in the papers.
Crime as well. A group was jacking people in the parking garage at the Imperial yet never a word mentioned anywhere.
Card rooms with locals playing was best place to get the news,
Negative things about local casinos are generally glossed over and ignored in the media. All about the benjamins.

I recall about 3 or 4 guys from the forums trying to meet him, he was never where he said he would be.
Last one I remember was Mofome chasing him around Vegas for several days to no avail.

He lost a wager to me in 2006 and stiffed me out of a dinner for which I offered to take $100. Never paid. Admitted it here.
He threatened me on the forum several times.
The Monday after a bad outing in a contest back in 2012, he called me 5 consecutive times the next morning giving me shit. I finally told him to meet me outside of Panorama Towers
in a half hour despite having torn my right pec 2 months earlier.
He declined but told me he would be at the Hilton at 5PM to play Derby Lane. I showed. He did not. I told a photo of the board at the Hilton with an early race result
at Yonkers and posted it here.
155 pound then 54 year old man with a torn pec and he does not show.
He chilled from that point and we were actually supposed to meet up a few years ago and have dinner after having a few normal exchanges here.
Meat was a funny, knowledgable guy and at times likable. But he was a stiff and all bark.

I agree, a poster has to cross the line numerous times before John bans them, he'll give a guy many chances. I remember the last time Meat got banned, he called John's girlfriend "A gook who eats dogs", I guess that was the final straw. I didn't like the guy, but I also don't like speaking ill of the dead, so this will be my only comment
