The EOG Octagon is a head-to-head handicapping showdown featuring a winner-take-all purse of 2,500 bananas.

Each contestant provides 1,000 bananas to the prize pot with EOG supplying the added money.

The format is flexible.

This month, the participants have agreed to 30 plays over 30 days with the handicapper earning the most units being declared the winner.

All plays must land in the range of -200 to +200.

Contestants must select full-game sides or totals, first-half sides or totals, halftime sides or totals or RHE props.

Contestants are allowed only one wager per event.

Contestants will post selections using prices and pointspreads from the following establishments: CRIS, Pinnacle, BetDSI, Westgate and William Hill.

Once a contestant posts a selection, neither the contestant nor the opponent can submit a play in the same game.

To make an official selection, each contestant must submit the following four pieces of information in the post: Betting number, team name, price/pointspread and available sports book.

The handicapper with the most units at the end of the month will be declared the winner.

At month's end, the winner stays on the court for the following month and the loser goes home.

I'll try to recruit ABUNDY, HEIM, KANE, NUT6, PINNACLE420, SCOOPER, SVBETTOR, TOBY TYLER, VIEJO DINOSAUR and others for this space in 2019.

This month's competition between Jammer and EJD5277 will consist of 30 plays from each handicapper.

Best of luck to both valued EOG contributors.

Thanks again to JK and EOG for the opportunity, and BetDSI for the generous overlay.

Looking forward to a tough matchup against a sharp guy.

Final score: Rockies 4 Blue Jays 2.

EJD breaks from the gate with a plus-price winner.
A winner that almost wasn't.

With 2 outs in the 9th, and the Rockies up 4-1 with no one on base, Trevor Story booted a routine (and I mean ROUTINE) grounder to short that would have ended the game.

Danny Jansen followed with an RBI double, and the sweat was real.

Thankfully the bet held on. Would have been my worst beat of the year by far.

961- Mets +101- Pinnacle
As clear an example of a right-side loser as there is.

Jammer got a horrible break with the deGrom injury. He was on complete cruise control and his pitch count was low.

To be fair though, it seems rotation injuries are always a hazard when backing the Mets.

Yeah and their clueless manager said he didn’t want to use Gsellman four out of five days, lol. Why not put Diaz in for a 5 out save. He hadn’t pitched in a few days.

EJD with an alert beginning.

In horse racing, horses who break from the gate alertly always seem to run a big race.

Only a 30-game competition this month, not 40 games like last month.

I'm rooting for both contestants to win every game they post.

But I must admit, I root for the trailing handicapper a little bit more.

We need an exciting finish at some point in this competition.

So far, nothing but tapouts in The EOG Octagon.

Just for the record, the contestants agreed to a 30-game competition this month.

Rules are flexible but must be agreed upon by both contestants prior to the start of the competition.
