"The US reports 3,100 coronavirus deaths in one day -- 20% more than previous record

Beginning last Friday, officials began including "confirmed cases and probable cases combined" under guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The CDC added probable cases and deaths. Changing the criteria caused the increase.

A death that is probably a covid death should be considered a covid caused death & added to the official covid deaths tally, so what changed & what gives you the idea that what you allege, even if true, caused the increase? As noted cases & hospitalizations have been increasing also & reached record numbers in the USA. That deaths have also reached record numbers should, then, be no surprise.

"Record-high Covid infections and hospitalisations have been reported in the US, with fears they will not slow in the run-up to Christmas.

The number of people in hospital passed 100,000 for the first time, a figure that has doubled since early November.

New cases rose by a record 195,695 on Wednesday, and the daily death toll of 2,733 was close to a new high.

The city of Los Angeles has reacted to an unprecedented surge there by ordering residents to stay at home.

Nationwide, infections are now closing in on 14 million, with more than 264,000 deaths, according to data from the Covid Tracking Project.

Figures have continued to soar in recent weeks, with around a million new infections reported every week in November. - equivalent to 99 every minute

It wasn't counted before. Now that it's added, cases and deaths have gone up.

If you move the goal posts, the score will change. They want to up the covid numbers since the hospitals make money on covid cases.

Follow the money
CMS routinely provides reimbursements to hospitals for treating patients on Medicare. Medicare is a federal health insurance program for those over 65.
In April, during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Congress created a $100 billion fund under the CARES Act to assist hospitals and to provide Medicare reimbursements for COVID-related treatment. The amounts provided were 20 percent more than typical reimbursements.

Where is this applicable? In Illinois alone?

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/cor...d-why-is-illinois-reporting-them-now/2367728/

If probable cases of covid deaths were not being counted in official covid death numbers before, then covid deaths were being under reported before the criteria change & there were more covid deaths before than they were saying.

Ask yourself why mask mandates failed, why social distancing failed, why targeted and even mass shutdowns failed, why closing schools failed to contain or even mitigate the spread of the virus?
Did social distancing fail? A lot of the spread here is from crowded bars and weddings inside.

Accuracy of Data
CDC tracks COVID-19 illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths to monitor trends, detect where outbreaks are occurring, and determine whether public health measures are working. However, counting exact numbers of COVID-19 cases is not possible because COVID-19 can cause mild illness, symptoms might not appear immediately, there are delays in reporting and testing, not everyone who is infected gets tested or seeks medical care, and there are differences in how completely states and territories report their cases.

Mask mandates didn't fail. Mask mandates succeeded, both in Canada & the USA:

Masks have saved many lives.

Social distancing didn't fail. It has saved many lives from death via the flu, pneumonia, C-19, etc.

Shutdowns didn't fail. They have been a great success:

CDC told states to add probable. States added at different times and some haven't done so.

Lenny, let’s have another shutdown so our cars can get repossessed. That would save more lives yet. Here’s an idea. Make it illegal to own a car in the city. The thought of no more fatalities, drunk driving’s, or police harassments far outweigh people bettering their lives with a car. Make everyone use city transportation.

Didn't fail huh? 200K new cases/day, the real number is likely 600K to 1 million, that's quite the success. Every mitigation measure that has been tried has failed, all at great cost, total failures.

"The reality is that December, January and February are going to be the most difficult time in the public health history of this nation," said Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Is this the robert redfield that said in front of dozens of cameras that a mask is better protection than a vaccine? It's a good thing we have experts like him isn't it?

Get rid of alcohol. That would deal with the drunk driving issue.

No more police cars? I'd think they save more lives than kill them via what they accomplish via driving. Putting them on horses wouldn't get the job done.

Ditto for ambulances that save more lives than they destroy.

Many cities have already cut down on cars or are planning to do so.

Sweden has had a plan in place to reduce road fatalities to zero.

Stricter testing for teen drivers would reduce deaths. As would greater policing of the roads, harsher penalties & lower speed limits for the average joe.

.

Logical fallacy. The conclusion does not follow from the premise. That's your first mistake.

You also err in not understanding why cases are rising in many countries at this time of the year. That's your second mistake.

Extreme safety measures have been proven repeatedly to be successful. Look at New Zealand for example.

Without such measures & covidiots in charge there would be 20,000,000 dead already instead of a small fraction of that. Good job health experts! Hallelujah!

Read this for more enlightenment on the matter:

Nonsense. Cost? What cost?

What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:

1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

He didn't say that according to this quote, the keyword being "might":

"“I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine,”...

https://www.health.com/condition/infectious-diseases/coronavirus/masks-vs-vaccine

"Last week, two infectious disease experts from the University of California-San Francisco described masking as a “crude vaccine” that would immunize some people against the new coronavirus. Writing in The New England Journal of Medicine, the experts said masking could become a form of “variolation” that would generate immunity and thereby slow the spread of the virus while we wait for a vaccine. Variolation dates back to 1000 BC in India when people were infected with low doses of smallpox to induce a mild form of the disease and prevent the person from being re-infected."

See the whole article, continued at the url above.

It's a good thing we have experts like him isn't it?

Thankfully the online keyboard warrior amateur after-the-fact commentating covidiots, conspiracy nut jobs, hoax advocates, C-19 existence deniers & "it's just a flu, what's all the fuss about" folks weren't in charge. Then all hell would have broken loose (think Armageddon like) & it wouldn't be just a couple million dead, but more like 20,000,000, to say nothing of those suffering from "long covid" & the longterm economic impact of that.

Good job, health experts. Hallelujah!
