You seem to swing between opposing the shutdowns and agreeing with them, what do you really believe?

By the way, those people you mention are probably the people who dont go to restaurants and bars, etc, anyway.

I am for opening in non hotspot areas now. Don’t forget I work in this every day, a lot of my posts are more a reflection of the pulse of my customers. When I say a third of the people will stay home, it’s true. A small business cannot survive with 25% capacity. Maybe if their rent and expenses were cut by that much they could. Michigan is expected to lose 1/3 of their small businesses from this. Opening tomorrow isn’t going to help them with social distancing. The damage has been done.

i agree, they should open at 50-75% capacity, then ramp up in a couple weeks, it's not like tables in restaurants are squeezed together, reducing capacity by as little as 25% should leave plenty of room.

For the most part, I’ve stayed away from politics on this board and Twitter but I’m all in with the freedom crowd. These far left governors and mayors are out of control.

Governor J.B. Pritzker is treating Illinois like a police state.

Last Friday, as some states were relaxing restrictions on the stay-at-home orders, Pritzker was adding restrictions to a person's freedoms.

Citizens of southern Illinois should not be restricted from local movement because the city of Chicago is a hotspot.

Ugh.

Pritzker is heir to the Hyatt hotel chain.

He spent more than $170 million from his bank account to get elected.

Congratulations, he now has the worst job in America.

Last week Orange County beaches were the only 1 open in Socal, yesterday they were the only ones closed. All because newsom being spitefull against the very RED OC coast.

Its all posturing at this point. They dictate things and the public ignores it if it has gone too far and the police aren't going to enforce it. I keep getting back to it, the Feds and the President are seen as being "responsible" for the economy, while the governors and mayors are seen as responsible for keeping people safe, at least with most voters. So the way these politicians are all acting is quite in line with what they have been doing.

Well, stand up for yourselves, not just the people but the elected leaders as well, that's what you elected them for - to lead.

'm watching Governor JB Pritzker here in Illinois.

He's mandating the wearing of masks beginning Friday.

Masks are selling for $1.99 at CVS.

No thanks.

I'll lift my hooded sweatshirt over my nose and mouth.

I haven't bought a bandana in a long time but they were a dollar a piece then, and they can be washed and used again, repeatedly -- doesn't have to be a mask, just a face covering. In Las Vegas the casinos give you the face mask for free hoping to gain your patronage.

This is my problem with government. It’s ok for them to make money while small businesses struggle with no plan to reopen. Such BS!

The "government" is not "making money" when there is relatively speaking no income and sales to tax. All public libraries, community centers, and many other government offices were closed. Only ones for sure open -- police and fire -- at the time of 'cappers post.
