Today the Tigers and Royals are playing a game in Omaha Nebraska at the TD Ameritrade Park. Home of the college world series.

Here are the dimensions of the field.

LF - 335,
LCF - 375,
C - 408,
RC - 375,
RF - 335

Very small park in terms of the power alleys.

Here is what I believe isn't being accounted for in the total.

Omaha Nebraska has an elevation of 1089 feet. This is higher than Chase Field in Arizona and Chase is considered a launching pad.

Temps in the upper 70s today. 78 degrees around game time. Low humidity with a 15% chance of rain. The wind is out of the south at about 10 mph today.

The field faces to the southeast which means the wind will be blowing in directly from right field to third base.

Total is currently sitting at 9 (-105/-115)

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Thanks for the note, Sporty.

Remember old Rosenblatt Stadium.

The College World Series, with high-powered aluminum bats, always would feature high-scoring games.

Then the action switched to TD Ameritrade Park in 2011 and the NCAA outlawed a certain type of aluminum bat in the same year and we saw a lot of low-scoring games.

Chase isn’t a launching pad because of its elevation, but rather because of the hot/dry environment.

1,000 feet barely registers in terms of a difference in air pressure.

Good call Sports. Whatever the reasoning behind it, 17 runs blew over the 9 total. Wish I read your thread before the game started.
