Today's assignment.

Do you have any neighbors who are elderly or possibly just lonely?
Step one. Bake a pie. Apple is always good, but whatever your favorite is. Then make a nice pot of your favorite flavored coffee.

Step two. Randomly knock on your neighbor's door. Present them the pie and coffee.
Tell them you've been thinking about them. Ask if there's anything going on in their life that they need help with. Offer to give them that help, even if it just means being an engaged and empathetic listener for an hour. Eat a slice of pie with them, but leave the remainder with them for later. Most of all listen. To their story, to their ideas, to their feelings.

Do that the next time you're tempted to post banalities here. I promise you will have a great time.
