Re: Vegas May 1st- May 28th (All bets inside)
I have a question and I know it's going to make me sound like an idiot but I'll ask it anyway - what happens if you lose a winning ticket? I've gotta believe in this day and age they can verify it for you with their computer records, etc. And I'd assume that if you're a regular and they know you, it wouldn't be too much of a problem. And if you did lose it, would a picture on your phone be enough verification?
Sorry for the dumb question. I'm still a couple months away from being old enough to step into the Vegas casinos. 2348ji23e
This happened to me several years ago at a Station property. I bet a 1H NCAA Hoops game for a dime and lost the ticket. I went back to the window 15 mins later and they told me that they didnt know what happened and that they would look into it. After the 1H was final and I knew the ticket was a winner I really started to panic.
I called the the Gaming Commission and they had a field agent to the casino within 45 minutes.
The casino paid me within 15 mins of the agent being there. The Nevada Gaming Commission does not fuck around, at all.
One more rookie question - are you allowed to bring laptops into the sportsbooks/do they have wireless? In the era of iPhones, there isn't much they can really do to stop you from having access to the internet if you want it but just curious what the general policy is. I could see a place like the M that offers the live betting not wanting people to have their laptops with all their spreadsheets open.
Last one, Travis, I promise.
They frown on it but cant stop it. They do have signs saying no phones at the counter but that is understandable. You can talk all you want now but dont look for them to take a real bet from you if you are using the phone or a laptop against their wishes.
Alright, I lied, one more - what time do the Vegas books put out the next day MLB lines and are they 10c (up until 160 or wherever they break)? I usually play the openers at Olympic/Bookmaker (for totals) and BetJam for sides (dimelines) and they come out around 3-4 PM. I think Pinnacle also releases lines around 4. Do the Vegas shops wait for these lines to get ironed out a little or do they offer similar opportunities?
The Coast properties open first. In fact they are already open for tomorrow's business. They take 5k on sides and 2k on totals and RL's. The best time to attack is from 8-10 AM local time when the offshore market is fired up and really moving. If you are coordinated and fast you can catch them sleeping on some fast moving lines.
