New year to clear the slate and to get better. Some of the veterans here what are somethings you look to improve on going into the new year. Could be on either side of what to do better or things to avoid.

Mine.

1/ Play 1/2 NL poker and finish the year with a win rate of 10 bb/hour
2/ Win one daily tourney in vegas
3/ create my own numbers for each sport I bet starting with cbb and nba now.
4/ enter the westgate supercontest and circa contest with one entry each
5/ keep great notes of my bets with regards to the line I bet and what was available and what it closed at cris/pinny
6/ find smarter people than me and learn from them in poker and sports (Ive found this a bit in sports since moving out here. I just need to listen more...lol)

I'd like to hear what others have for targets this new year.

7/ Be an absolute line nazi. If I like a game and it is even 5 cents off don't bet it. Hunt for the best possible line in town and if I don't get that line that I want I pass on the game. Ill track these results as well to see how the results workout for a season.

8/If I find good tidbits to provide that information to the EOG community.

A line Nazi.

Is that politically-incorrect?

I chuckled nonetheless.

Happy New Year Dink....a line nazi...lol. Happy New Year JK, and everyone else on the board.

Now that we have legalized sports betting in MI, once it truly comes online, get back into active betting on games. I started handicapping NFL games on an analytical basis this past season to come up with my own lines. I will try to perfect that art, and expand my calculations to the NCAA-F. I will give the Westgate SC and possibly Circa another try, and this time find one or two good partners to do it with.

Good post, and good luck to all this 2020, may it be the best ever!

Wait patiently for sports betting to become legal in my state.

Thought it would never happen in MI. The governor threatened to veto it. The negotiating factor was that all taxes paid to MI from sports wagering goes into the school fund, like the lottery. Once that was agreed upon, then the governor signed the bill.

Hopefully, OH will come to it's senses. It is now all around you.

There’s a gambler Tonybigcharles, you probably know by now, who’s been playing live 1/2 no limit for 10 years or more and he’s still at this level.
When does a 1/2 player move it 5/10 or higher? Like Railbird said 1/2 can be a miserable grind with very low potential.

2/ Win one daily tourney in Vegas
I’m sure these are fun with so many randoms (tourists) but with the variance and high rake, are these ever +EV?

3/ create my own numbers for each sport I bet starting with cbb and nba now.
Excellent. This is sports betting 101. If you can beat the closing number consistently you’re on your way to success.

4/ enter the westgate supercontest and circa contest with one entry each
Fun fun, fun. But it’s a lottery ticket right? I do like the quarterly contest payouts at Circa though. Great idea!

5/ keep great notes of my bets with regards to the line I bet and what was available and what it closed at cris/pinny
Learning curve that makes sense.

6/ find smarter people than me and learn from them in poker and sports (Ive found this a bit in sports since moving out here. I just need to listen more...lol)
Pretty sure Dink has talked about this on podcasts as big part of his strategy, workload and prep time. Excellent idea.

Congrats on keeping away from hookers, booze, pit games and video poker.
These leaks can wipe out your bankroll faster than anything in LV.

For me it’s all about bankroll management this year.
I play online offshore mostly and failing to hit the “cash out” button has resulted in catastrophic failure far too many times.

Good Luck always.

How is this looking for your state. What state is it
Ohio. The House is in favor of the Ohio Lottery Commission running the show but the Senate leans toward the Casinos running things. So if it gridlocks which there is a great chance it may, the consumer (me) has to take my sports betting dollar out of state.

How is the indian tribe in the state. I ask because in wisconsin they have a major lockdown which probably means they will never have sports betting.

I really thought it was a joke geeeezuss

Stop it, lap18.

Stop it right now.

My form of sarcasm.

Like a mother scolding her disobedient son.

Or better yet, like Jim Rome admonishing his "clones," when in reality, Rome is encouraging the bad behavior.

No tribal gaming in Ohio. Just bureaucrats jamming the process up. I can go 60 minutes to Michigan when it’s up in the spring but I hate giving that state a nickle. Pennsylvania is two hours.

Since they are taking earlier entries and adding in the quarterly payouts it is going to be great to see how big this gets. 1st place of 1M in line and I'm sure that Circa is going to continue to be aggressive with their marketing.
