MLB projects $640K per game loss with no fans.
When this is your starting point in negotiations its hard to believe the owners are going to give in on players demands.
What is the point of even playing?
Do the players really expect the owners to just give in and lose even more money?
Listening to Gill Alexander's show today, I have to agree that if the players don't return to play, this is 1994 all over again. This will be viewed as a strike. And the public WILL hold it against the players/owners/league overall.
More states legalizing sports? But bullish on the NFL. There has to be some reason for the big run up in Draft Kings, isn't there?

Expect to see the same in Korea this summer. Love the current cutouts in the stands and occsional enhanced artificial crowd noise. Some fans are now attending baseball games in Taiwan.

Say there is a another wave. Would casinos just eliminate physical sportsbooks and go 100% online? Since Indiana was doing 85% handle with their apps, that’s some valuable real estate when you are factoring in social distancing.I was speaking about the overall runup, not the gain from today. To go up that quickly, there's something else at work. The trending map of the virus that somebody put up yesterday, (it may have been Wild Bill) looks like it will just about be completely dead by September, just in time for the NFL season. For all the talk of a second or third wave, it is all pure speculation. The Spanish Flu and H1N1 had three waves, but both of those were influenzas. The recent coronaviruses have not had second waves. The NFL makes everything else pale in comparison re: betting handle.
The experts have no clue if there will be a 2nd wave, we have no idea what will happen 2 weeks from now. It's still May, if you had said 3 weeks ago that most of the country would be reopening people would have said you're crazy.I was speaking about the overall runup, not the gain from today. I hope you're wrong, but I suspect you're correct.I dont think MLB will happen....
CA has it on the November ballot. That's cuz they are broke.More states legalizing sports?

They might legalize it but wont have mobile betting since the tribes wont allow it.CA has it on the November ballot. That's cuz they are broke.
No, as I read it tribes and state will both run off a similar platform which will have mobile. They might legalize it but wont have mobile betting since the tribes wont allow it.
The money is all mobile. NJ crushed it due to mobile. Dont at me about their bonuses and promos.
Nevada needs california.
Plus if cali does pass it expect -115 standard lines.
I have heard the hangup on this is that the tribes only want the mobile to be active if inside or on the tribal casino land/place.No, as I read it tribes and state will both run off a similar platform which will have mobile.
On the CDC website it states that masks DOP NOT have any effect on this virus.Batting practice pitchers to wear masks. Maybe indoors in the Trop but ridiculous outside. 50 players on a team? That's stupid. The virus will get into some clubhouse, and wearing a mask for pitching BP not gonna do a damned bit of good.

Makes the mobile idea pretty much useless than.
Have to believe that "no season" is minus money at this point. Maybe it always was.

they been holding off if things got better. It won't . 40 million out of work. The violence has replaced the virus. It would be in bad taste to open the season. People cannot pay the cable bill.
The 40 million out of work are getting $600 more in addition to the regular unemployment. Some are making more money than before the pandemic. Others are working from home. Gas and transportation costs way down. So many shops were shut down, it would be difficult for many NOT to put money away. Nobody was vacationing. If people aren't paying their cable bill, it's more likely that they are choosing to dump it, and go with the likes of Hulu or Roku.
If MLB chooses not to go back this season, it will leave a lasting black eye on the sport.

Who's going to wear the black eye, I think the owners and players have approached that line already. The 40 million out of work are getting $600 more in addition to the regular unemployment. extra 600 is till end of july...how will that help ?... remember unemployment works what you put in it over a series of quarters.
I guarantee you a lot of those unemployed are making more money now. Come August, things will be different, but hopefully those have put some money away.
