Wise Guys Are Pounding...

FUTURE BET....

NEW ORLEANS UNDER for the Total WINS they will have all year...

The reason for this is because the Saints may not even play ONE game at their FAMILIAR HOME STADUIM, THE SUPER DOME, this entire Football Season...

Can you imagine what a NIGHTMARE this must be for oddsmakers who still have this FUTURE BET available?

I have forgotten and could go look, but what is the Saints O/U Shrink?

I bet it earlier today at 8 minus 30...

I suspect it is DOWN NOW in most places...

If it isn't, I would POUND it!

Best of Luck,

Jeeeez............They weren't going over 8 BEFORE what's happened in N.O. !

All bets on totals for the Saints will be cancelled if they can't play any games at home. You will see many posters complaining to you Shrinky how they were screwed, lol. Be prepared!

Although not a bookmaker, I suspect that NOT playing at their familiar confine is worth at least ONE game, maybe more...

Jim,

Good point. Maybe I'll pitch in to the working crew so they can get in at least their last Home Game and maybe 2...:cocktail

Exactly Jimmy and all bets have to be cancelled

Bets should not be cancelled IF the lines have already been adjusted and wagers have been accepted since the change.......

I doubt there are any cases of that yet, not sure though......

:+clueless Tell you what Shrink, the Saints NOT playing in New Orleans might be a good thing for that football team as their home record has been bad during Hasletts tenure there. That play isn't that "wise" in my opinion. Take their road record over the last two years and double it. Hell they would have won in the double digits.

Unbelievable pictures in New Orleans. People who think they have it bad cause you owe your local but you are short, just watch the NEWS and see what people are going through in New Orleans. VERY SAD SITUATION. This sends a reality check throughout the country that is if you have any feelings.

I didn't realize that the O/U on wins could be cancelled if games aren't played at original location. Is that the rule? I thought they were cancelled if total games weren't played in foots such as 16 in NFL, 11 in college.

The Saints sucked at home. The Super dome is hardly a Lambeau Field for this team. SHRINK, where did you bet it at 8? I looked at many places and could only find a 7?. I would have taken Under 8 because the Saints suck anyway.

Futures specify they must play all 16 games, not where they are played.

Baton Rouge or San Antonio are the 2 most logical choices on where they would play

Come on guys, if 2 teams played at each others home stadium and then on a neutral site you would have 3 different lines on these 2 teams. So why should any book honor a total win bet on a team not playing ANY real home games, lol???

I believe the bet is on total number of wins, not over/under on home games. Vegas rules states: all 16 games must be played for action. Jim, I hope you are not promoting the idea that books should make up rules after bets have been placed.

Chuck I guess you think the books don't take into considration that there are certain amount of home games to be played on that schedule??? If you don't think there will be problems on this thing then I guess that I'm the crazy one, lol. Sorry if I'm wrong. But Home field does have its advantages for a few wins, so why should it be honored if NO true home games are played??

Jim, Let me quote CRIS Sportsbooks rules on O/U Win Totals: "WHERE THE 16 GAMES ARE PLAYED HAS NO BEARING ON THE ACTION."

Does that make it crystal clear for ya Jim?

Exactly if they are played in Baton Rouge they are home as far as i am concerned. I say get the NFL to work 24/7 play the first 8 on the road and the last 8 in the fixed up DOME, great for business in New Orleans, but I don't know if they could handle it.

JIM your on crack, a bet is a bet, SHOULD BETS CANCEL PACKER TOTAL BETS TOO BECAUSE FAVRES FAMILY HOME IS TOASTED??? Just a bad precident all in all a bet is a bet. Games have been moved for one reason or another in the past all bets stood.

YEP, and just took another hit off my crack pipe. Playing on your home turf figures greatly on any teams win total, are you on crack???

Ok lets say New Orleans is playing the Bears in New Orleans and the line is New Orleans -7, but then something happens and the game is switched to Chicago and the line goes to New Orleans -2, should the -7's be honored, lol, GET REAL!! Or to a neutral site even though in New Orleans area and line is lower, should it be cancelled??

JFS people have made future bets before and teams have had to play on the road Yankees and Mariners for example played less than 81 at home in the past,

ALL THE BETS STOOD, period. If all 16 games are on the road the bets stand too bad everywhere.

Also all win total bets were betas a bundle, if the a Saint bet is cancelled because it was too high, another team (say Carolina or Tampa) is too low and all future bets on ALL teams would have to be canceled, not gonna happen.

All I do is trytrytry
Jim what part of "Team must play 16 games" do you not understand?

That is the only constraint for this prop by friend.

I thought Jim would say thanks for the clarification Chuck or "I was wrong" post. The guy keeps at it. Now he is changing the subject to say the line would be different on a nuetral field. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH IT JIM? You were wrong. The future bets have action. The rule specifically says the bets stand. You are wrong.

The Hurricane has been in the news hasn't it?? If lines are up anywhere right now and bet, its a bet. Should be off the board if they don't want a bet on it.

I have to agree with Chuck.....

All of these stipulations surrounding bets being cancelled under certain conditions are sometimes unfair.

After wagers have been placed and accepted on a team's Over/Under of total wins, they should stand regardless in my opinion as well.

What IF Deuce McAllister blows his knee in Week one?
That would ovbiously affect the Saints' over/under total.
Should all bets be cancelled then as well?

You could go on and on with the "What If's"........

Don't be so quick to bet against a team that has faced adversity. Many times these teams and communities rally around themselves and put out a superhuman effort.

There are many examples of this in the past, so buyer beware.

I agree with GD. The Saints have not been a good home team of late. Playing at LSU stadium may not hurt them. CRIS has the Win Total line at 7. They would have to go 6-10 for you to lose if you bet Over.

I pounded the under 7.5 wins. Figured I could always make money with it.

I pounded the under 7.5 wins. Figured I could always make money with it.

Either by scalping it or just by playing ind. games.........look at Week1! No one wants the Saints, line up from -4.5 CARO to a likely-7..........and that is for a road game! Imagine the change on home game sides...........

The last time the NFL moved a game on short notice was Oct. 27, 2003, when wildfires in Southern California forced the Chargers and Miami Dolphins to play at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., rather than San Diego.

JIM ALL FUTURE BETS STOOD AS RECALL.

Ok guys I'm wrong. BUT I guarantee you that books will post a new rule come next year in Football on all future totals, lol, only if they get hit hard on this.
