Yet another former star player who cannot coach (See Wes Unseld, Elgin Baylor, Isiah Thomas, Bob Cousy, Bart Starr, Wayne Gretzky, etc.).

Final score: Indiana 92 New York 77.

And it wasn't that close.

Indiana's biggest lead was 26 points.

I watched all 40 minutes as punishment for a losing wager on the Liberty +3.5.

Painful.

You're a funny guy, Birdie.

I once had a sneaky suspicion Sue Bird's father (Herschel) would bet on Storm games and move the market.

I heard through the grapevine he also likes to play the horses, too.

Bird's father lives in Henderson, Nevada.

Liz Cambage making her home debut.

Cambage led the WNBA last season with 23 points per game.

They're calling her Liz Vegas.

Announcers say the house is "poppin" during player introductions.

Just checked the announced attendance of 2.747.

Oh boy!

Connecticut ended the game on a 9-2 run to win, 80-74.

The Aces are a work in progress with new players in new roles.

Atlanta has underperformed terribly.

The Dream is/are a guard-heavy team and the guards have played poorly over the first three games of the season.

Atlanta's post players -- Breland, Williams, Billings and Gulich -- are not much.

Angel McCoughtry is with the team but she's not in uniform after suffering torn knee ligaments last August.

No timetable for her return.

Diana Taurasi is sidelined after undergoing back surgery.

Doctors expect her to be ready in mid-July.

She wants to return a month earlier.

Good news, bad news for Phoenix in Friday night's 86-84 win over Las Vegas.

The good news: All five players reached double figures in the win.

The bad news: The bench contributed only two of the team's 86 points.

Phoenix improved to 2-6 in games without Taurasi since 2014.

Looking for a spot now to bet against the Mercury.

Stay tuned.

The Aces were 14-20 in their inaugural season, good for ninth in the WNBA's overall standings.

Missed the playoffs.

Laimbeer's team was the fastest-paced team in the league last season.

Phoenix on a three-game road trip over the next week or so.

At Minnesota

At Indiana

At Chicago

The Phoenix-Indiana game is interesting because it features a married couple going head-to-head against one another.

Candice Dupree (Indiana) versus DeWanna Bonner (Phoenix)

Matinee game today in White Plains, New York.

The Liberty are hosting the Sparks in a School Day special.

Tip time was 11:00 a.m. ET.

With no overnight numbers available for the WNBA this season, some sports books in Las Vegas posted numbers on the game about 30 minutes prior to tipoff.

The Ogwumike sisters look a lot alike, but Nneka is clearly superior to Chiney.

Nneka is 28, Chiney is 27.
