Loyd didn't play 2h, but SEA is net Zero 2h to cover 2h line.

No Loyd, no problem.

I played Las Vegas -3 (+105) in the second half.

Seattle was inside the number the whole way.

Total closed 158.5 in a lot of places.

Dead under.

Are the Aces going to be a small fav tomorrow?

Good question.

The Sparks, losers of four straight, have looked awful since Candace Parker returned to the team.

Las Vegas is praising itself for grinding out a win last night against a shorthanded Seattle squad.

But I don't like either team right now.

I lean to the Sparks to win the game.

Pick 'em feels right.

Derek Fisher v Bill Laimbeer.

Dislike the way Liz Cambage plays the game.

Her body language is terrible and she always seems to be barking at the officials.

Teammates may get tired of her act.

The matchup between Nneka Ogumike and A'ja Wilson probably decides the game.

Alana Beard is back for L.A. but she's 37 now.

I love the way Chelsea Gray plays for L.A.

If she's locked in, she'll cause problems for the perimeter defense of the Aces.

Plus, Las Vegas doesn't take care of the basketball.

Another 17 turnovers last night.

Sloppy.

Play-by-play announcer Matt Schumacker opens the game by saying, "GOOD MORNING from downtown Chicago..."

A matinee start at Wintrust Arena.

Brunch and basketball.

Former Notre Dame hoopster Jordan Cornette is the Sky analyst.

Best announcing crew in the league.

Best of a bad bunch.

The WNBA is lacking in analysts.

The officiating is subpar too.

Many missed calls or worse yet, phantom calls.

Diana Taurasi made a good suggestion a couple of years ago by asking for NBA refs to call the short schedule.

Not much depth on the 12 WNBA teams.

Washington dressed 10 players, Chicago only nine.

Washington and Chicago played eight ladies each.

Watching the game now with knowledge that Chicago will travel Seattle to play the Storm this Friday and Washington will travel home after a four-game road trip to take on suddenly-struggling Connecticut this Saturday.

Connecticut has won the first two meetings this season against Washington.

Seriously doubt the Mystics will lose the third meeting.

Could happen but I don't think so.

Covering the number, of course, is a much different matter.

The Mystics have won nine straight meetings over the Sky by an average margin of more than 20 points per game.

EDD owns her former teammates.

Halftime score: Washington 50 Chicago 45.

Somehow UNDER bettors survived the day.

Total closed 165 at William Hill.

Chicago's Diamond DeShields is perfectly-built for basketball.

Her starting teammates are not.

The backcourt of Vandersloot and Quigley is too light in the cakes while frontline players Dolson and Lavender should be restricted at the buffet line.

The best WNBA players have a strong base.

Elena Delle Donne still a fluid 6-4 athlete despite a bulky brace on her left knee.

Very crafty.

More offense than defense.

Think Dirk Nowitzki.

A score of 79-72, Mystics, with 90 seconds left.

Chicago's Kahleah Copper scores on a reverse layup with 1:16 left to cut the lead to five at 79-74.

There would be only one more basket scored the rest of the game.

EDD hit a 15-foot jumper to beat the shot clock with only 14 seconds left in the game.'

With the Mystics leading by seven, Chicago missed the last shot of the game, a challenged 3-point shot from Allie Quigley.

I saw numbers of Washington -5, -5,5, -6, -6.5 and -7.

Final score: Washington 81 Chicago 74.

Final score: Sparks 86 Aces 74.

A crowd of 10,000-plus at Staples Center watched Parker win her first game of the season in four tries.

Seventeen turnovers for Las Vegas.

The old Bill Laimbeer of the Detroit Shock era would be demanding a much better effort.

He's a different guy these days.

Great call by Heim.

I was amazed last night with the bigs Aces have Laimbeer doesn't run any pick and rolls.....Cambage sets a high ball screen
and the guards drive and kick it out baseline.

Cambage is perplexing to me.

She did not know the playbook a month ago and she still seems disconnected today.

Storm -2 second half

Biggest play of the year for me so far. Phoenix just doesn't have it anymore. Big run time end the half by Seattle and it will continue...

Phoenix outplayed Seattle when it mattered most.

Still, the Storm had a chance with 1.2 seconds remaining to tie the game at 69 after point guard Jordin Canada was fouled on a thee-point attempt.

The 70% free-throw shooter missed the first of three shots, ending Seattle's best chance to tie the game.

I'll provide some WNBA notes tomorrow after reviewing the weekend slate.

No games are scheduled for Monday.

Two games on the Tuesday slate: Chicago at Las Vegas (noon PT start) and Atlanta at Minnesota (7:00 p.m. CT tip).

I look for Seattle to defeat New York this Wednesday in a matinee game at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.

Interesting note: There was a glare on the court late in the second half today as the sun was setting in Seattle and the windows at AAA must not have been covered.

I immediately thought about a potential UNDER situation if the sun was shining in the eyes of shooters.

Bizarre to see the sun shining on an indoor basketball court.

Could happen at some college hoop courts for Saturday and Sunday afternoon games.

I may have seen it once or twice at Butler's home court, Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Final score: New York Liberty 74 Atlanta 58.

Atlanta played horribly Sunday against New York.

Nikki Collen's team shot only 27% from the field.

Some thought the weeklong layoff was going to serve the team well.

Not the case.

Rookie Maite Cazorla, a Spaniard from the University of Oregon, made her first-ever start in the WNBA.

She looked overmatched with only one basket, one assist and four turnovers in 23 minutes of play.

Atlanta opened -3, closed -4, but never had the number covered.

Dallas snapped a 12-game losing streak to Minnesota with a thrilling 89-86 home win.

First Dallas win over Minnesota since June 6, 2015.

The Wings scored eight of the game's last 10 points.

No Damiris Dantas (calf) today for the Lynx.

No Azura Stevens (foot) today for the Wings.

Minnesota now even with the league at 6-6.

None of the team's six losses have come by more than seven points.

The Lynx dressed only eight players on Sunday.

Mickey Mouse league.

Dallas shot the lights out.

From beyond the arc, the Wings were 11-for-22.

From the free-throw line, the Wings were 18-for-21.

Alana Beard did not play Sunday at Staples Center because her wife is expecting their first child.

I tried to write that sentence like it was no big deal.

WNBA referee Janetta Graham committed a cardinal sin in the first quarter of the Chicago-Los Angeles game this past Sunday.

Graham failed to call a shooting foul on a Los Angeles player guarding Chicago's Diamond DeShields.

The L.A. defender clearly wacked Diamond's arm and caused the Chicago player to re-load and shoot the ball awkwardly toward the basket.

The ball fell short of the mark and rolled out-of-bounds.

After a confusing three-second delay, Graham blew her whistle and signaled the ball was deflected by the L.A. player and awarded Chicago the ball.

Terrible make-up call.

The ref missed the original foul call and made up for it with a phantom call.

WNBA officiating has been terrible this season.

Obvious travel call was missed in the Minnesota-Dallas game at a crucial part in the game.

Diana Taurasi wants to see NBA refs call WNBA games.

I agree with her.

You're not kidding....it's no autopsy, no foul.
