Caitlin Clark, the basketball star with the Indiana Fever, won’t play in Friday night’s game against the Dallas Wings, spoiling a matchup against the league’s top draft pick that spurred ballooning ticket prices.

Clark was ruled out because of a groin injury, the Fever said Friday on X. That means she won’t square off against the newly minted Dallas star, Paige Bueckers, in a game that garnered so much fan interest that the Wings moved it to the American Airlines Center — a 20,000-seat arena where the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks play.

Ticket prices had been surging on resale markets before the Fever’s announcement about Clark. Early Friday, the least expensive seats on Ticketmaster were a pair of nosebleeds asking $99.45 each, while the median seat price stood at $292.50.

A pair of courtside seats listed for $2,925 and $2,457, and a local press report earlier this week cited prices as high as $3,700.

here is the problem with saying she is worth 6 points. it turns Kelsey Mitchell into a point guard which she is terrible at. She is a very good 2 guard....not getting players involved and running an offense. she can handle it for a few minutes at a time when clark hits the bench but asking her to do it for 30+ minutes means things fall apart fast.

this might sound insane but is she worth 9 points?

this dallas team's power rating is really messed up from the time that Paige was out. Paige back running the show this team is much better. Oh and here is a little secret. They are 3-1 since they acquired the 6'7" center Li Yueru. she is averaging just 7 points and 7 reb (leads the team).

for me kind of hard to judge until game is over what she is really worth... or if she ever was out before.

same ole story...the non stars rise in first game without the star.
So the loss of clark the Non stars cannot keep it up without the star forever. Next game i will be dug in to fire. Stay on target till she comes back.

Sounds like an MLB play I had last night. I had Tampa F5 and a 6-0 lead wasn’t good enough. By game end, I guess Lamar threw 3 TD passes.
