I don't know what the current landscape of prospects for 2026/28 are, but if there's the potential for more players like CC and Bueckers to emerge, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The Fever have been basement dwellers for YEARS, and all it took was one pick, one player, to make them the best team in the league, or at least capable of dominating ANY team. A'ja has been the most dominant player in the league for the last few, but with a looming rebuild on the horizon, I'd jump on it, then look to ship Brittney to a playoff contending team for another pick. He/She/They are just a name at this stage of his/her/their career.

Paopao has looked good this year. I initially 'caught' her name in reference to an old CFL player and head coach, Joe Paopao. No relation.

Aja getting moved feels like she is making this demand as she sees where this Aces team is going and being a title contender isn't it.

I would also see if anyone wants gray or lloyd. I'd keep jackie young as the main stay.

Then rebuild city.

The touchy issue is if it's a rebuild I don't believe Hammon is the one to do it.
She took over the Aces in the 2022 season after Bill Laibeer had the Aces as the #1 seed in back to back seasons.

She took over a Ferrari and was told "stop crashing it into trees" like Bill had. Bill had lost twice in the semis and once in the finals.

Becky isnt a rebuilder.

They lost their mojo when they traded Plum. In many respects she was more valuable than Aja.
She wasn't more valuable in a player point spread but yes she ran the point which allowed young and Gray to play off the ball.

I don't know how Lloyd has been this under performing. I guess not having the ball in her hands every possession is a big change.

Sportrmylife, on a different subject, the Sky much improved lately. Have they improved their guard play?

They are 3-7 their last 10

Reese has been much better over the last five games in terms of fg%.

In terms of guard play. The number say it hasn't got better in terms of assist/turniver ratio.

They have been quicker in the half court when it comes to getting a shot up but that has been since Reese and Cardosa (she is gone now) being quicker with the offensive shots.

Atkins is a swinging door on defense and she leads the team in minutes played

Chicago Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca and Courtney Vandersloot go back a long way.

Pagliocca trained Vandersloot years ago before he became a WNBA executive.

Pagliocca made his name as a player development coach.

I believe Chicago signed "Sloot" as a personal favor.

She's 36 and she was benched in Game 5 of last year's WNBA Finals between the Liberty and Lynx.

Pagliocca's acquisitions are suspect.

The Sky backcourt is not impressive.

Ariel Atkins puts up numbers, but she doesn't make any of her teammates better.

Kia Nurse is yesterday's news, Rachel Banham is overweight and Hailey Van Lith has a lot to learn.

What's more, Pagliocca's two coaching hires (Weatherspoon and Marsh) are troubling.
