Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

Everybody and anybody who post plays are touting.Yes jk is touting but he is not a tout like bovi and cokin who sell plays. What jk and the shrink have in common is that they are both very charismatic.

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

I've been fair w you always. I ask every tout this and have yet to receive a reasonable answer. .....If you can make money betting your games, why do you have to sell them?

I would say that if you are a good tout, getting paid for picks is a good way to expand your income. After all, even though you like your picks, sometimes you are going to lose. Having people pay you for picks gives you a cushion to fall back on when you're losing.

Besides, say you re betting $5000 a game and you get on a hot streak. You go from 100 players giving you say $40 for your picks, to 200 players giving you $40 for your picks. If your pick wins again, you collect $5000 for your bet, and $8000 for your clients. Now you get more clients, say 250 players, and you increase your bet to $7500. If it wins, you collect $7500 plus $10,000 from your clients. If you lose, you lose $7750 but collect $10,000 from your clients giving you a $2250 profit for losing.

Very simple mathematics. You win and you get more clients. You lose and your clients still make you a profit. Odds are, even if you lose, the clients will still stick with you thinking you just had a bad day.

Could there have been a better hire than JK after Shrink's death? JK's Vegas
ties lend some credibility. Without him here this site would have died a slow
death similar to the one 'Mo' went to. Of course JK is touting. This place is owned
by a book. I think their mission is to get a few deposits......no
?

well lets say they got my deposit. And all I did was tail JK....im up. they are behind...no?

I don't think JK is hitting above 52.5 since he started here.....is he? Nonetheless if you
followed him exclusively and he was winning you'd be one of the few. 97% of the people
that deposit $500 or less lose it the first week. They'll bet JK and throw in a few of CK's...

Trouble with your theory is that hardly anyone is depositing in the offshore books nowadays except for the beginning of football and March Madness...offshore books are not getting the volume they used to and all the major books are saying no to advertising deals...affiliate deals are on the rise and unless some book finds another net teller down the road, things look bleak...but I have faith that offshore still makes a comeback before football season...the books know they have to adapt a bit to become more successful....right this minute, EOG contests and their radio shows are keeping the forum afloat and it starts with John Kelly...he has done a great job since taking over and I don't see how anyone can see him as a tout...he does not recieve one thin dime from his plays and gets a salary for compensation...(big difference from selling plays)

When JK posts plays that he likes, he more often than not gives an explanation for his choices.
An intelligent reader should take that info and hopefully determine whether there is any logic applied behind the choice and then do what they want with it. Yours to enjoy. Track him or play it.

I see him doing his utmost to keep EOG of interest to all who frequent the site. I see him trying to pull in new activity to EOG as well through the shows.
Surely whatever/whoever is deemed to be worthwhile on the site and radio show amongst us all will carry on forward and the deadbeats will be trashed and left in the wake. Reorganizing and cleaning up seems to be the plan.

So with regards to "touting" ? You think a Sponsor book calls up JK and asks ( orders?) him to put out a few good words for team "A" as they have too much heat on team "B" ?
I don't think that's the case. To have others generate attention towards any sportsbook through contests and promotions sponsored by these books is expected. I don't see JK doing it himself. He enjoys talking sports and bringing interesting characters to the air.
He may be at times too wise or soft a guy to retort at some of the jerks he encounters, but he will keep the enemies away and will maintain respect amongst his media circles & community.

I am sure the remuneration for the work at EOG doesn't have JK leaning back in a big leather chair, cigar in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other. He likes to have an active media role in sports (gambling related ) activity. Simple.

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

JK's a good dude with a positive record verified by ComputerBob.

...and after thinking about this for a while, I really think Tuckman is stirring some shit with some sort of agenda involving money, or pride, or both.

Jk backs up his selections with his own gambling bankroll. Nothing more, nothing less. Followers are always looking for either a scapegoat, a quick fix, or the "Holy Grail."

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

The reality is he is worse than a tout. As much as everyone hates touts you pay them and they are trying to win.

Here you have someone handing out picks but the business he is working for is wanting you to lose.

How can you trust what he is giving you is the legit side?

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

Ask EOG contributor "bernardoincr" if I'm a tout.

He offered to send me $500/month two years ago for a daily e-mail with all my selections.

I told Bernie, "Thanks but no thanks."

I also was approached by Jim Feist and Tim Trushel to join their "teams" and I politely declined.

Most businesses feature more good people than bad people but the sports advisory business is littered with more bad than good.

Fair question, Tuck, but the answer is an emphatic "NO."

I've never asked anyone to pay for any of my selections.

Question to you, Tuck: Would you care to reveal the person who raised the question?

I'd be interested in uncovering the person's motivations for asking the question.

TTP...if you ever met JK and spent a little time with him, you wouldn't have to ask that question...JK is legit as they get....

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

Judging from some of the shit Tuckman has in his past, I'm pretty sure he has an agenda.

JK is good in my book.

Now thats a fair question

Also, in the future you should be clear about your posts/questions....you waited til post #6 stating this was a question posed to you from someone else as opposed the subject line

Ray so you see in absolutely no situation where his employer could need money on one side or the other?

If so always leads to a chance of something.

Someone is good until they are not

The question was directed from someone who reads the board but does not post, (he was asking what Jk's role was here and started tossing out his opinions) I meet this guy over the weekend while hanging out with a few posters.

Re: Would you consider JK a tout?

But if he reads the board, why doesn't he ask the question himself?

Or is your new job to become the resident idiot?

For a tell-it-like-it-is guy, Tuck, you're extremely evasive when questioned.

Is this the same source who asked if Viejo Dinosaur and Blondie were still employed at EOG at a time both individuals were gainfully employed here?

It's like a casino floorman giving out a blackjack strategy card. They're basically telling what to do on every hand ... they don't WANT you to lose, they want you to play (knowing you won't win in the long run).

The sponsors at EOG understand that the majority of players will end up losing more than they win even with JK's selections, or any other sharp's selections for that matter. Regardless, every casino and every bookie in the world wants their customers to win some of the time ... the losing will take care of itself.

I'm not sure what source you are talking about, but regardless the answer would be no as I didn't know who this person was to this weekend. A lot of people read forums but do not post, that seemed to be his thing.

It's not like it was some active poster or anything, Eog was brought up, he asked a few questions and this was one of them. Nothing more nothing less. No worries if this was my question, you know I wouldn't have a problem saying so.

I never worked here according to some...:lol

Tuck posed an interesting question....and it was answered quite admirably by most posters...
