You are missing the point dummy, you act like the only consideration is how many cases there are, the economies in red states are in far better positions than blue states, with unemployment rates and business closures at very manageable(and recoverable) levels.
The goal is not to "beat" the virus, that's impossible as we've seen, the goal is to live with it and get through the worst of the pandemic with as little overall cost overall as possible. Red states are thriving, living at least reasonably normal lives, blue states are in a continual panic.
