Gov. Noem never shut down South Dakota. Their unemployment rate just dropped to 3.0%. That's lower than it was BEFORE the pandemic.

South Dakota Gov. Krisi Noem's response to the pandemic was an eminently American response. So of course the liberal media tried to crucify her for it.

But, as they say, you can't argue with results.

That's how it's done, ladies and gents, in my humble opinion.

We are seeing in living color the myriad terrible consequences of draconian lockdown orders. They may not be as easily quantifiable on a chart or graph, but we see them in our neighborhoods and schools and churches every day. People's lives have been turned upside down and, in many cases, destroyed — not by a virus, but by state governments with authoritarian strategies.

Noem's strategy, on the other hand, can, I think, can be summed up nicely in this one paragraph from an op-ed she wrote for the Wall Street Journal in December:

Rather than following the pack and mandating harsh rules, South Dakota provides our residents with information about what is happening on the ground in our state—the science, facts and data. Then, we ask all South Dakotans to take personal responsibility for their health, the health of their loved ones, and—in turn—the health of our communities. The state hasn't issued lockdowns or mask mandates. We haven't shut down businesses or closed churches. In fact, our state has never even defined what an "essential business" is. That isn't the government's role.

Provide free people accurate information and then trust free people to make their own decisions based on their own unique circumstances?

Trump fucked up his cherished brand. Thats all he had. Threw in all away and lost everything just like he did with the casinos. He's never recovering from this though. He let that racist cat out of the bag.

3% unemployment, all business's open, cases dropping fast, hospitalizations collapsing too, and they dont even have to wear masks if they dont want.

That's how you run a state, thank you Governor Noem!

Meanwhile in blue state after blue state, they remain in misery and despair, blaming their own situation on phantoms. The only true pandemic is hysteria and poor decision making.

Isn't it interesting that governors who are idiots shut down their states economy and actually ban travel to their state, whereas well run states keep everything open and encourage people to come with slogans like "we're open and ready to party". The end result is 3% unemployment and people that are happy as clams.

Here's some good news, keep it shut down baby. Remember, shutdowns are necessary and work, LOL.

The rates of people testing positive for the coronavirus in some areas of New York City have reached ten percent or more, according to data provided by the city Friday.

The data showed that 54 of the city’s 177 zip codes had a positive test rate of ten percent or higher, compared to the week before Thanksgiving when 40 of the city’s zip codes saw positive test rates go above four percent.

How many people are partying in the Dakotas right now? You'll get frostbite before Covid.

Those are summer commercials. the point is there are many states, including some big ones(Fl, TX,GA) where things are almost normal. All you people living in places and wondering when we can return to "normal"? You can do it now, it's a choice - choose to do it.

The dichotomy that's coming out of biden and the blue states is interesting, biden says it's going to get worse...a lot worse, but you also have governors finally opening things up - like in MI and chicago. The question is are they coming to their senses, or are they giving up?

Michigan is opening up to 25% on Feb 1. 1/3 of the bars and restaurants will not reopen in my area at 25% and 10 PM last call - and I can't blame them. Very disappointing as it was 50% and no curfew before. Of course her data-driven approach based on science is full of shit as she won't let anyone know what the nuimbers have to be for 50% reopening. Oh, she also cancelled winter contact sports also, no basketball.

You are really naive to think that places can just open up. Nothing like losing your liquor license for 14-28 days right off the bat with a heavy fine. Every one of these freedom fighting bars is closed within 4 hours of reopening, now they are losing more.

You are correct that standing alone is a hopeless endeavor , i was referring to states opening up, the governors deciding to open, realizing that what they've done has not worked one bit, while they can just look at the experience of other states and say if they're doing it without disasterous consequences we can too.

When Discantis lifted basically all restrictions back in the summer Fauci said he was "asking for trouble", we now know what happened in FL and what happened in other states that did the opposite - the experiment is over, the results are in. Florida's path was the better one. It really is that simple - just relax and open up.

There are enough bars here that could file a class action suit, I would love to see that. There are no public guidelines for them to follow in Michigan.

Masks and mitigation work very well in any country that takes them seriously and doesn't politicize their use. There are dozens of examples. Australia, S.Korea, China, Japan all serious, non political and extremely successful.

The two biggest idiots in global politics, Trump and Bolsonaro laughed it off and made the whole thing go away by not paying it any mind. They both were making complete fukking asses of themselves at the onset, which was the only real opportunity to win against Covid19. Of course the proof is in the pudding, those two countries account for 642,000 deaths, 250,000 new cases a day and infinite burnt health care costs. For what? Didn't save the economies, those will never be the powers they were, replaced seamlessly by China and India.

But 430,000 deaths later with no end in sight, huge human toll and infinite cost, some absolutely clueless fukks wanna play politics with peoples lives and futures. These ain't doctors or epidemiology experts, they are uneducated, redneck beef, buggering run of the mill tards.

But they know.

I don't know enough about the other ones but know from mNy many first hand accounts of how they handle outbreaks and the containing has nothing to do with masks

Just as we all knew. Those who covered for Trump's craziness are now trying to save their careers. It's not going to work. Today it was Dr. Deborah Birx try to backtrack and cover her ass. That ship already sailed Dr. Birx.

Cases way down nationwide, hospitalizations dropping fast, and now deaths are dropping as well. It's over. Thank you president Trump.

It just don't matter over there now so open it up and let it do what it do. 30-40% of the population over their value their freedoms over life itself so whatever you try, it ain't gonna work.

Variant after variant gonna run through, some burps will cite herd immunity or touting some Warp Speed bullshit.

Covid don't give a fuck about human stupidity, its over bullshit. It was allowed to run rampant until now, let it eat.

Gonna probably cost the living more than the dead soon anyway let's just hope it takes out a large % of stupid folk, supremacists and shit flies so that when it is time to rebuild, the job is easier.

With this logic, should the covid deaths since the inauguration be assigned to the trump total? CLOWNS .... make me laugh.

No, just the opposite, Biden gets credit for all deaths since the election, not from Jan 20th, and actually it would be fair to pin all deaths on Biden since he was nominated in mid summer. thus almost the entire pandemic can be pinned on Biden's failures.
