You clearly know a lot about business when you think a CEO can make a declaration like that on national television and think he can just change his mind later without a massive lawsuit from the unions that oppose the mandates to begin with.

As if he didn't consult his lawyers before going on television and stating that.

I heard that, what does that have to do with the pilots unions suing over the vaccine mandate? just as the SW president backed off on firing people, he could just as easily back off the vax mandate.

This mandate will not stand in the long run, everyone knows that - what Biden is trying to do is force millions to get the jab BEFORE it's thrown out, as once you get the jab you cant undo it.

What these governors need to do is target the vaccine themselves, that's really the only thing the bastards care about . The could come out and say the state of TX no longer recommends getting the jab, say it's too dangerous, announce they will no longer work with the govt to distribute it, even block it's easy distribution. THAT would hurt biden the most.

1. It is not just SW.. it is american and IBM which is not union. SW will not fire the pilots ,,, but the costs of testing the business takes on could be a problem
2. joe cannot force anyone to get a vax... but he could put pressure on businesses..by testing then the business gets rid of the employee cause of costs ...more pressure of federal jobs.
3..texas will never say it is dangerous in a million years.

I see those florida school boards that challenged FL's mask mandate for kids are already caving one by one, what started at maybe 15 districts is down to 6-7, covid is rapidly declining there and in a few weeks they'll all be unmasked, the same thing will happen with the vaccines in time.

Southwest and American Airlines Tell Texas Governor Who’s Boss​

Federal requirements for vaccine mandates supersede state orders against mandates. Besides, the airlines care about health and safety.


“We are reviewing all guidance issued on the vaccine and are aware of the recent order by Governor Abbott,” Southwest Airlines Co. said on Tuesday. “According to the president’s executive order, federal action supersedes any state mandate or law, and we would be expected to comply with the president’s order to remain compliant as a federal contractor.”

Chicago has backed off an Oct. 15 deadline to ban teachers and other staffers from its schools if they are not vaccinated.
They can get weekly tests instead, per the Chicago Public Schools CEO, Pedro Martinez.
“With an impending COVID-19 vaccination deadline for employees, unvaccinated Chicago Public Schools teachers and staffers will be able to opt for weekly testing and continue working after this week…”
