So I make plans with the boys to hang at my place to grill out and watch the fight. I tell ol' girl about it after the fact, because she doesn't give a shit if I gamble and love to watch boxing. But for some reason, she starts to cry. It's our anniversary on the 5th. Completely slipped my mind. Unfortunate.

I think with such little discussion about the fight here, it shows how dis-interested people really were in it. HBO and De La Hoya hyped up this fight like no other. God, a mini-series every week on Mayweather and De Lay Hoya as they prepared. Money, money, and more money is all they cared about for this one. It doesn't even come close to the "megafights" of the past.

I wish we had a boxing forum here at EOG. I love to talk boxing. I would've been talking about the DLH-PBF fight for months prior to it. Anyhow, the fight ended up getting 2.4 million PPV buys, which is an all-time record in any weight class.
