Default Widely available numbers

Players come to these boards for help and to learn. If a capper is trying to follow other cappers, then we should use widely available numbers when posting plays. I see so often where a person bets (posts) a local number which may be a point different than most anyone can get.

I feel many of these players are indeed lying also to try and make them look better, but irregardless, if you post prior to gametime that you got minus 3 from your local, that doesn't help many when the best line is minus 4 at most every shop we can wager at offshore.

Do you see where I am coming from? I doubt those who do this will change but I am just sharing my opinion.

Take care

Couldn't agree more General. A poster quoting a number from a local is as credible as a rumor.

Post your tickets men.

GENERAL --- THERE ARE THOSE OF US THAT MAKE OUR OWN NIMBERS AND WE BET INTO THE OPENING LINE AND THEN THE GAMES GET POSTED. IN MOST CASES THE LINE WILL MOVE IN THE DIRECTION WE BET IT AT , A FAV WILL BECOME MORE OF A FAV ABD A DOG WILL BECOME LESS OF A DOG .

I LIKE AN EARLY POSTER AS I CAN MAKE THE ASSUMPTION THAT HE DOES HIS OWN WORK AND IS NOT TAILING ANYONE. WHO NEEDS A POST ON WED OR FRI FROM A POSTER WHO IS ON THE SAME SIDE AS HIS FAVORITE BUDDY THAT HE TAILS???

I LOOK AT THE EARLY POSTERS AND THE VERY LATE GUYS THAT POST 1 HR OR LESS THAN GAME TIME. JUST MY OPINION. TOMMY B

I agree General.

I think if people want to be taken seriously when they post their selections, they should post the betting line that is available at a reputable off shore book, and also post their YTD (year to date) record for the sport they are giving their play on.

People can obviously do whatever they want, but I don't think any pick has much merit if we don't know your record on posted plays to date, and where we can get the line that you post in your play.

I agree with using widely availabe numbers and showing the book that bet is made at if one is truly trying to help others.

If you are just posting as way to track yourself or to make yourself look good then I would say post whatever the heck you want to.

Regarding records here is how I feel:
When I post a play I dont necessarily care if anyone else makes the play or not. It is too time consuming to post and keep records. I believe in encouraging thought and bringing attention to a play that I believe has value. Maybe someone sees it and says " that could be a good play" and that spurs them to look into a little more.

But if you are posting hoping to gain followers or to make a name for yourself then you have to post a record or no one can take you seriously like Chalky said.

So what if what I am reading is correct...what you guys are saying is that you ONLY want posts/picks from posters that:

1. give their year to date record...lol..so if you don't keep records you shouldn't post...or evne give you pisks/opinions...

2. post a line/number from a reputable offshore book...so if you don't post a number or if its from a bookie you again don't want a person to post

So a poster that posts..."Take the cowboys" - the points or take New Orleans...or Take Fla State....would not be appropriate...don't you think you are being alittle toooooo tight on "your" rules....many posters have opinions and make posts but might not have an offshore account or might just post his picks...not everybody as professional as some of you...JMI...FWIW
