| Skins +4000 = money 2010 Super Bowls Odds Written by Jimmy Boyd The 2009 Super Bowl is in the bag and what a game it was with the Steelers scoring inside the final minute to take home their sixth Lombardi. The fact that my play on the Arizona Cardinals on the point spread came through made the game even better. Like most of you, the NFL is my favorite sport to wager on and it can seem like a long time before the preseason starts up again in August. One thing you can do to pass the time is to take a look at futures odds for Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida. It is always fun to throw down a couple futures wagers on who you like to win it all and I’m going to give you three teams with good bang for the bucks for you to take a look at. If you had the Steelers last year, it would have paid out at about 10-to-1. Green Bay Packers +2500 to win the 2010 Super Bowl The Packers made a tough decision to cut Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre loose. They received criticism for it, but at the end of they day I feel they made the right decision. Aaron Rodgers already looked like one of the elite QB’s in the NFC in just his first season under center as a starter. Rodgers threw for 4,038 yards and 28 touchdowns against just 13 picks with a QB rating of 93.8. The team finished the season just 6-10 but they lost seven games by four points or fewer. I expect those close games to swing in Green Bay’s favor next season. Expect the Packers to make some moves to bolster the defense and to have an excellent shot at making a Super Bowl run. Atlanta Falcons +3000 to win the 2010 Super Bowl With their star QB getting locked up for his role in dog fighting and with their “head coach of the future” walking, it looked like the Falcons would be bringing up the rear in the NFC South for quite some time. But speculation was far from reality. Bringing running back Michael Turner and drafting QB Matt Ryan to team with star wideout Roddy White has already paid off. Atlanta finished the regular season 11-5 in 2008 and made the playoffs after finishing with only four wins in 2007. With Carolina’s age beginning to show on the defensive side of the football and with New Orleans still trying to get its defense turned around, the Falcons appear ready to emerge as the NFC South’s elite team. San Diego Chargers +1200 to win the 2010 Super Bowl Injuries clearly hurt the Chargers this season, especially on the defensive side of the football with the loss of Shawne Merriman. They struggled for most of the season but never quit fighting and wound up back in the postseason. The biggest reason why they have a shot is QB Philip Rivers. With LaDainian Tomlinson battling nagging injuries, Rivers became the focal point of the offense and he delivered with a 4000-yard season. He also had the highest quarterback rating in the NFL (105.5), tallied a league-leading 34 touchdown passes, and averaged a league-best 8.4 yards per pass. The Chargers will still be the elite team in the AFC West and a down year will drive them more in the offseason. 2010 Super Bowl Odds at Sportsbook.com Arizona Cardinals +3000 Atlanta Falcons +3000 Baltimore Ravens +1200 Buffalo Bills +4000 Carolina Panthers +1200 Chicago Bears +4000 Cincinnati Bengals +6000 Cleveland Browns +6000 Dallas Cowboys +1000 Denver Broncos +3000 Detroit Lions +10000 Green Bay Packers +2500 Houston Texans +4000 Indianapolis Colts +1000 Jacksonville Jaguars +3000 Kansas City Chiefs +10000 Miami Dolphins +4000 Minnesota Vikings +2500 New England Patriots +800 New Orleans Saints +2500 New York Giants +1000 New York Jets +3000 Oakland Raiders +10000 Philadelphia Eagles +1200 Pittsburgh Steelers +1000 Saint Louis Rams +10000 San Diego Chargers +1200 San Francisco 49ers +6000 Seattle Seahawks +5000 Tampa Bay Buccanneers +3000 Tennessee Titans +1200 Washington Redskins +4000 link

the colts will be better this year. they upgraded their D-line, starting corner m jackson should be back, p manning won't be hurt the first 1/3 of the year, and their o-line should be much better with a healthy saturday and the experiance the rookies got last year. sd should be better. how could ne not be better with t brady back. the giants should be better.

The Skins have ZERO chance. They are the worst of the NFC East and have managed to completey destroy any confidence that their starting QB may have had. Their owner is an idiot. If you are going to play a longshot, Atlanta +3000 is a much better play.

No way do the Packers go to the Super Bowl (or the playoffs). I can't see how going to a new D scheme (3-4) will get them to the Super Bowl. Harris and Woodson are another year older, If Rodgers gets hurt they have nobody to step in. Brohm? Flynn? I'd lean towards the Titans. My sleeper pick is Seattle. My long shot pic is KC

Philly has a legit shot, but they still need help on the OL, and McNabb will always be "McChoke" in my book.

Wait for Matchbook futures to settle in, and then make your longshot bets there. Instead of gettign 10-1 on the Giants (which of course is off the charts horrible) you likely will get 17-1. Don't let the books rip you off with bad prices. Play at matchbook later, where there is a "yes" and a "no" offered.
