Vikes, Favre, just a matter of time

Vikings coach Brad Childress says the team has not discussed Brett Favre yet, but the subject is expected to be addressed at some point in the near future.
Favre is close to Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, and the team would likely be interested if the future Hall of Famer/current waffler gets the "itch" again. It's worth noting that the Vikes aren't closing the door on Favre despite owner Zygi Wilf stating unequivocally that he had no interest just over two months ago. May. 1 - 5:12 pm et

As diehard of a Vikings fan as i am, and as much as i would love to have someone like Favre behind center, i just can't help but think Sage is the man to start the season. What people are forgetting is that Favre decided to retire again because of major throwing shoulder and arm problems, that would otherwise require him to have surgery.

Am i mistaken that he has not had this surgery or any treatment at all on his arm? So if he comes back, i can almost guarantee what his lines will be broken down into 1/3's of the season:

Weeks 1 - 5: 11 TD's, 2 INT's; Vikings 4-1
Weeks 6 - 10: 6 TD's, 6 INT's; Vikings 3-2
Weeks 11 - 16: 5 TD's, 12 INT's; Vikings 2-4

More importantly, Favre's ability to sling it and straight up "win" in the cold in November, December, and January seems to have decreased over the last few years.

I think that so many Vikes fans are so stoked about this because we are literally a QB away from making a run. We have the other pieces, aside from another quality WR. But with the purple JESUS on our team, who will have a more increased role catching balls out of the backfield this year, a solid offensive line for AP, top 10-12 defence, and a new playmaker like Percy Harvin in the mix, we are oh so close!

With Favre potentially coming back a second time, he has set in stone his name on that oh so dreadful list of major professional athletes who could not 'hang em up' when it was their time, and so who diminished their careers.

Now with that said, yes there is a part of me...a part that can't help but get giddy at the thought of #4 wearin purple and me wearin a #4 as well. He's one of the all-time greats no doubt about it, but even i can't help but think this just doesn't make sense!
