Thumbs down After tonight both NY teams will be at .500 (23-23)

April slumber continues for the Yankees and now the Mets 'the NL best' struggling to stay afloat with Joh-automatic Santana

Pitching , both teams have major pitching issues.

Well they have done nothing to prove otherwise.

One thing that is a little surprising is how bad the Central has been so far this season, that helps NY a little....they have no chance of winning the East.

I don't know why this would surprise anyone with the Pitching staffs they had...those guys all didn't find a Genie in a Bottle and go from Class A bums to legitimate Big Leaguers during the offseason

No it's not.......being 2-3-10 back has nothing to do with the lack of pitching talent NY is stuck with, how is it a retarded statement, it's an opinion on a teams season no different than an opinion on a game....NY won't make the playoffs

Do you ever post picks or just criticize those that do?

Yanks lose again...

I rarely post a pick. But I wouldn't criticize someone else's pick on a given day. This isn't a pick rather a statement made WAY to far in advance. There are still 137 games left in the season. Yes, the Yanks lose again, and so do the Sox. Still 2.5 out. The yanks are notorious for starting out poorly and yet they always make the playoffs. Be sure to bump this when the Yanks make the playoffs in September.

by the way, I did not mean your whole comment was retarded. "they have no shot to win the east" was retarded.

I am well aware of the yankees slow starts, I didn't jump on this after yet another slow NYY start, I believe they are just not that good anymore. Damon, Giambi, Mussina, Andy, just shells of their old selves.

You must be a Yankee fan by your defensive reaction.

It has nothing to do with how many games out they are, they are just not that good anymore IMO

Yes, I am a yankee fan. But the defensive reaction is just due to everyone saying the same thing every year and surprise they make the playoffs every year. It's baseball. Money and talent wins out over a 162 game season. The White Sox won't hang around. The orioles and rays are just not that good. Oakland stinks. It will be Boston, yanks, Detroit, and the Angels in the playoffs.... yes, I agree the Yanks aren't as good as they were a couple years ago, but they are still better then the smaller market teams. That's just the way baseball is. if Boston or The Mets or the yankees need help after the break, they'll trade. Other teams won't.

Well I never said it before, in fact I said last yr they would still make the playoffs when everyone at my old site was saying otherwise, and jumping all over them.

I don't think Boston is as good this year either, and I did say in the beginning of the yr Tampa Bay would be much improved and I think it may have been you who laughed about that.

oh well, we'll see.

props for saying Tampa will be improved. That may have been me laughing. They are definitely a better team. The major difference is their improved bullpen.

There are no excuses. The game was their for the taking...to be a champ you gotta go take it. They scored 12 4th qtr points. Not going to get it done. Have not won a playoff game on the road. Champs win on the road. Doug Collins said what i have said, you are looking for trouble when you play a big game with a great player like James in a game 5 or 7 even at home.
