This was my favorite reality show ever......it was such a tough game, and combined the best aspects of other shows, without all the gross eating of Survivor, or the backstabbing on other shows... Anderson Cooper of CNN FAME now, was the original host and it aired for 3 seasons on ABC.......i would never miss this show... Just read where ABC is bringing it back this summer for another run.....I highly doubt that Anderson will be hosting again, as he wouldnt have the time, but this is a great show.....hopefully it will come back successfully and will run for a couple more seasons....Its much better than survivor and big brother, and maybe even a little better than Amazing Race which is currently my fav reality show.. Just wondered if anyone else remmeber watching this show? |

yeah, i just looked, he "chose" to leave after the second season to go to CNN....so i wouldnt think he would be going back......but he was a damn good host on that show...very serious.....this is what i found when i looked: ABC In 1995, Cooper became a correspondent for ABC News, eventually rising to the position of co-anchor of World News Now on September 21, 1999. In 2000 he switched career paths, taking a job as the host of ABC's reality show The Mole:
[edit] CNN He left The Mole after its second season to return to broadcast news in 2001, now at CNN: "Two seasons was enough, and 9/11 happened, and I thought I needed to be getting back to news.[13

| Game Show "The Mole" Returns Dubbed television's smartest reality show, ABC is bringing back "The Mole," featuring new "whodunit" game elements, interactivity and a new host. Casting information can be found at The Mole - Casting. "The Mole," based on the hit Belgian format, will be produced by Stone & Company Entertainment and follows a group of players as they try to figure out who among them is The Mole, a saboteur trying to keep them from winning money. Players must decide who they think The Mole is and then learn as much about him or her as they can, because, at the end of each one-hour episode, the player who knows the least about The Mole is immediately eliminated from the game. In the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and one of two final players wins a substantial cash prize. The highly-rated ABC unscripted series aired in various time periods during its four-season run, and was a consistent draw with key young adult viewers opposite established network competition, including NBC's "Law & Order" and the inaugural season of Fox's "American Idol." "The Mole" ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in its respective slots each season with Adults 18-34 and took second place in each of its time periods among Adults 18-49. Despite facing stiff demographic competition, "The Mole" improved each of its time periods among Adults 18-34. The original series, produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment, was hosted by Anderson Cooper. Producers are launching a nationwide search to replace Cooper. In addition to a new host, new features, new games, new locations and online and mobile interactivity are planned for the series. Casting for players begins immediately. Scott A. Stone is executive producer. |

He was very serious on the show, and had a mystique about him which added to the show, funny now remembering it was him. |

yeah, he was real good.. I am just really happy to read this, cuz it really was one of my favorite reality shows ever....I loved it so much, i even went as far as to download the application to apply for the show....but it was like 14 pages long, and then u had to include a 5 minute video, and a bunch of other stuff so i never followed through....but at my last job, i got most of the other people watching by the end of the 1st season, as anyone who actually watched it and gave it a chance liked it...we had a pool at work for the 1st 2 seasons on who the mole was......it was alot of fun....one of those "water cooler" shows, becuase everyone might catch something that someone else didnt catch the night before....and unlike survivor and other shows, the audience DOES NOT know who the saboteur is, or any of the inside info...you are playing along with the people as well..

Ahmad Rashad hosted celebrity mole ABC revives 'The Mole', new non-celebrity edition to debut in summer - Reality TV World - News, information, episode summaries, message boards, chat and games for unscripted television programs Anderson Cooper helmed The Mole's first two editions, but Variety reported he isn't available to host its ABC revival due to his current gig with CNN, which also prevented him from hosting the show's celebrity editions. Ahmad Rashad, who hosted The Mole's two watered-down celebrity installments in Cooper's place, wasn't asked to return, according to Variety. "We're looking for someone in the Anderson mode, a little mysterious but full of comedy," Stone told Variety. "It could be a breakout role for someone." |

thats a little different than what i read and posted....i read it to say he left the mole to return to news, like he didnt want to do it anymore...this sounds like he simply accepted the great offer at CNN and therefore "couldnt" return to the Mole......which makes more sense.....it was a good gig for him at the time...cuz the first season was highly rated

thats true, but it was just a whole different show when it was the celebrities...so of course Ahmad was a different kind of host......its a very "thinking" game when its real players, and Anderson made for a perfect host..I actually think the guy who does Amazing Race would be real good for this role, but since its on CBS, that wont happen either..

Some guy named Jon Kelley is hosting it The Mole - Host and Contestant Bios - ABC.com Jon Kelley co-hosted "Extra's" one-hour weekend edition and was the show's primary correspondent for the daily show from 2001 through 2007. In December, he co-hosted ABC's "Holiday with the Stars" and just recently co-hosted ABC's "All-star Tribute to Movies" on Oscar Sunday. Kelley's diverse broadcast career has spanned over 15 years in news, sports and entertainment. Prior to Fox, Kelley was the lead sports anchor on the NBC owned-and-operated station WMAQ-TV in Chicago. During his eight years in Chicago, Kelley was widely regarded as one of the region's top sports anchors and directors, covering the World Championship Bulls in all six of the team's title seasons. In addition to his nightly sportscasts, Kelley hosted the number one rated "Sports Sunday," WMAQ-TV's half-hour, expanded sports highlights program. There he shared the anchor desk with some of the city's most dynamic sports and entertainment personalities, including NBA rebounding star Dennis Rodman and "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno. Kelley joined WMAQ-TV as a sports reporter and weekend anchor in April 1991. While at WMAQ-TV, Kelley was part of a sports team that earned such prestigious awards the Chicago/Midwest Emmy award for producing and anchoring his hour-long special highlighting the Chicago Bulls' quest for a fifth championship. Kelley also received the Peter Lisagor Award for Sports Journalism and an Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award for Best Sportscast. Kelley has also done stints as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor at WDAF-TV, Channel 4, the Fox affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked as a news reporter at KMTV-TV in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his career as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at KTIV-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kelley played four seasons as a running back for the University of Nebraska before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. He signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos in 1988 before embarking on a broadcasting career. Kelley is the co-author of the book "Breaking Into Broadcasting," a guide to landing one's first (or next) on-air job in television.

I like all 3 of those as well, but if a person gives "the mole" a chance, its really fun to watch and try to figure out....there is a lot of "game play" going on, and its much more of a mind game than the other shows, and not as much of a popularity contest...

well the person i pegged as the Mole, actually ended up winning the game and over 400,000 dollars..... Craig was the Mole, and he did a great job.....very likeable and it will be interesting in the next 1/2 hour when they show the ways that he sabotaged the games, and then they show the secret clues throughout the game that you could have caught on.... thats always the best part |
