Favre comeback is no 'rumor'

The Green Bay Press Gazette confirms through multiple sources that Brett Favre has indeed contacted the Packers about returning, and that his relationship with GM Ted Thompson partly led to his retirement.
There is no doubt Favre talked to coach Mike McCarthy about coming back two weeks ago, despite Favre's claims to the contrary. It's also clear through Favre's family and this report that Thompson doesn't want Favre back. The Gazette says Favre would have "un-retired" as early as May if Thompson had asked him back, but that didn't happen. Thompson reportedly isn't returning Favre's agents calls. This is all a little childish on both sides, but Favre can force Thompson's hand by being definitive about his plans. It's debatable whether he'll be willing to do so. Jul. 3 - 9:09 am et

Being a Bears fan, i wish they would. He's built a great young team, they'll be good for a while, great future. Firing Thompson would be horrible for the Packers, great for me.

We'll see how they do without Brett okay? Afterall they should be better without him right? Since your GM doesn't want him.

Then judge how well he's doing....as a GM you're only as good as you're record and players, now that his best player is no longer 'wanted' let's see how good 'he' is.

ever since they had a new GM come in that man wanted to start off fresh because he felt like favre was the real person running the team and the two have been butting heads.there seems to be a lot of tension there and especially when favre wanted them to go after randy moss and when they didn't it pissed favre off even more and i think there may have been a few words back and forth through the media.screw the GM there bret because your a good quarterback and i'd be willing to have him as a backup here in tennessee behind vince young even though i know that won't happen.it would be interesting to see him go to another team though.

i could definatly see farve backing up young, while we are at it, i heard montana is coming back as the backup for alex smith

i remember about ten years the falcons went to super bowl one year and the titans went the next but we both fell short but those were the good 'ol days when both franchises were winning regularly,wonder if blank would let vick come back to atlanta?

yep i forgot the falcons have never had back to back winning seasons....

as far as the blank thing goes i know the owner would never let him come back after whats happened and there is a good chance vick will never play in the NFL again.
