I KNOW QUITE A FEW WILL ARGUE THIS TOPIC AND SAY THAT A PERSON THAT BEATS THE OPENING LINE BY AS MANY POINTS AS A PERSON THAT BEATS THE CLOSING LINE. I DON'T THINK ITS EVEN CLOSE OUT THE 2. I WILL ARGUE THIS TOPIC WITH ANYONE. |

I would argue if I had any ideas what you just wrote. Look into some grammar lessons. |

What about the high % of win rate ATS when just picking the straight up winner in the NFL? |

if a game opens at 8 goes to 9 on a friday then goes to 10' by kick off.....i feel good getting the 9. MHO is beating the biggest move no matter when it happens is what matters. I have to admit I read the post 3 times and is not the clearest. |

| EXAMPLE: IF A GAME OPENS 7 AND YOU LAY THE 7 AND THE GAME CLOSES 10. HOW MUCH OF AN EDGE DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE BY LAYING THE 7 COMPARED TO TAKING +10? Last edited by rainbow; 10-23-07 at 07:27 PM. |

To answer the ?, I would say the guy who lays the -7 has more of an edge than the guy taking +10 later. Just a guess, I'm no pro. |

Figure out how many cents it would cost you to buy down from 10 to 7 (at least 60 cents) and there's one way to look at your edge... Another is to compare the Money Lines between a 7 point favorite and a 10 point favorite... Lastly, it's worth at least 5% long-term imho... THE SHRINK |

ok i got it now.....i think ...and i am not being a smart ass...not afraid to learn. but shouldn't it be how big of an edge laying -7 versus -10. Teach me cause if i had that scenario I am sure i would be on -7 AND +10. |

Rain, i guess iv'e been doing this too long. I guess 35 years qualifies me as a old timer, Both writing and putting up numbers. I must be a little different, because i didn't have to read it twice, knew exactly what you you were talking about. ![]() |
