Mayo is more talented. People forget that he was the best basketball player in the world between the age of 12-21 (for his age group), and his attitude kind of got him in trouble. He has the most complete game; when compared to Roy that is.

to me it's not even close. i love roy and think he will be an all star many times. mayo has the potential to be an mvp at sometime in his career, roy will never be close to that. mayo has such a higher ceiling than roy. in a couple years oden will likely be the best player on portland, not roy. again, i love roy, but mayo has the potential to be something special and we're already seeing that potential shine through in his rookie year.

only thing stopping mayo from being an mvp several times in his career is that there are tons of great young players. james will be in the running, usually the favorite, every year, howard will usually be there, bosh is outstanding, wade is a killer, bryant is still great, oden will develop into a beast, durant puts up nice stats, rose is an absolute animal etc. tons of great young guys that all have mvp talent/potential. roy is not in that grouping.

Actually Mayo was a media darling until he hit some rough patches. He was the next Jordan, until he did some questionable things. Then you stopped hearing about him. He didn't get much love at USC. He actually gets critiqued by the media more than he's praised. Even this year you've heard about Beasley and Rose, but not Mayo; at least not as often.

If Mayo got 1/100th the publicity that Lebron James gets, you'd suck his dick so hard that it'd fall off.

Mayo is the leading candidate for ROY right now. Rose will end up with it, as i told the world before, but Mayo has been the best rookie in the league. Better than Roy was as a rook and with less college experience under his belt.

Mayo has been known for a long ass time, his incident with the ref didnt help him you are right but hes been well known by bball fans for a long time now. He is a good player I will admit that. I don't understand your hate for Mayo. It makes no sense. Every place he's been at, he's been dynamite. High School, College and now the NBA. He hasn't even struggled with the transition. He shoots 47% from the field, 40% from three and 89% from the free throw line. He still turns the ball over a little too much, but his team isn't very good and he'll learn to take care of the ball.

Brandon Roy - the guy you say he'll never be as good as - is shooting 47% from the field, 33% from three, 84% from the line and he's averaging a 2-1 A/TO ratio. His rookie year he didn't have nearly as good of numbers as Mayo has now. Only thing he had on him was the TO's.

Mayo has more tools than Roy and that's a fact. I don't know how you can call yourself an "expert" and then make the statements that you make. How can you say that there's no chance that Mayo will ever be better than Roy, when he's close to as good as him right now?

How can you make such retarded statements. Mayo has a complete game and he's explosive. He has BETTER tools than Brandon Roy and if he works hard, like he has been doing, it's just a matter of time.

Him getting in trouble and people questioning him has made him work that much harder; IMO.
