| Yep, the Lakers just added a better defender than Ariza who can score and dominate on the defensive end.

| Surprised by this. If i was an organization I would rather have Ariza to be honest. Ariza will be a monster in a couple years. Artest gives them better defensive ability though. |

| Given $$ caps, and the timing of Kobe's big three year contract, Artest "fits" the bill, among other things, as mentioned prior, such as bringing an attitude... |

| Had the Lakers played Boston in the finals 100% would be in agreement of this move. Lakers were very lucky that the Celtics lost KG and they know it by this signing. |

The other thing is that it will be interesting to see how good Ariza is without Kobe, Gasol, Odom, etc to get him open shots and wide open lanes.

| Ariza to the rockets for the same contract that Lakers offered... Ariza agent should be shot in the head. He made Ariza lose his shot at staying with his home team where his family is located. He could have won another championship. Now he is going to a the rockets who will not be a contendor without TMac, Artest, and Yao. Stupid as move by Ariza Agent. What a dumb ass. |

| Pretty decent move by LA for the now...really like what Ariza brings and feel he was starting to come into his own towards the end of the year but Artest has proven what he can do and at a decent price for the Lakers. Ariza will help the Rockets down the road who need to rebuild a bit...can't feel great leaving the defending champs and going to a team that will be pretty much a non contender.

There is no more money. That's why I said Ariza going to Houston for the same money LA offered was a bad move for Ariza. The max the Rockets could offer was full MLE which is what the Lakers offered the day before. Ariza agent laughed at Lakers offer so LA signed Artest a better player for the same contract but for shorter years.

| Lakers just made themselves better...alot better. If Artest can mesh with the Lakers, then it is trouble once again for the rest of the league.
