Thanks Nover you hit it right on the head. Its fun to gamble for small amounts and outside of a 1/2 point occasionally in football the issue is picking the winner dosent matter if i have to lay 1.30 or 1.40 to 1 in baseball as long as i have the winner. i like totals and it works. I dont think I am square I bet $10.00 a game and bet 5-10 games a night in game 1 of baseball 3 game sets. bet 25-30 footbll games a weekend and have a lot of fun. I am ahead 400 bucks this baseball season s I hit 62% on my over/under plays and didnt lose any sleep. Thanks again for a great article for those of us that just want to have some fun. thanks eog.more of this and you will own the world of recreational guys.

Recreational players (losers in the long run if they go from recreational to habitual) don't really need to line shop that extensively because losers do not pay vig. he did however allude to it with the SB blast, his point has to be taken seriously.

Even guys that bet "professionally" don't even need to worry about vig all that much if they aren'y making a high volume of bets. Since it is all relative. Even a guy betting 10K a game 2-3 times a week in the NFL. He might put 500K in action is a season. If he hits 27-23 for the season at -110 he is going to be ahead 17K or 15454.55 depending on how he bets. 11K to win 10 or a flat 10K per play. At the same 27-23 at -107 he would collect 23900 or 22336.45. While it seems like a big difference to some(about a 6900 difference) that is less than a unit differene for 50 bets. And to a guy who is bettign 10K a game 6900 is just that, "not even a single bet".

Vig starts adding up when guys are grinding, betting small amounts and big volumes. A guy that makes the same 500K in bets at $500 per bet would most definately see the difference that that 3 cents makes. The return to him is about 14 times his unit size. So the $6900 extra to him means a whole lot more. that is why it is all relative. Obviously if the -107 is right there take it, but not at the expense of having to risk more thanit is worth.
